When reading or writing config changes to the different modules you will create a slurry of DTC's on the car. This is completely normal. Download and install Forscan on your pc to read and clear out all the communications DTC's.

Things you will need: Laptop with USB port and a corded USB ELM327 code reader, or bluetooth capability if you are using an OBDlink MX or similiar adapter. A BestBuy Rocketfish micro Bluetooth adapter is what I have(id recommend the fastest bluetooth module you can get your hands on for under $40.
OBDlink MX: Shop this around, sales prices all over the place, or from here:Amazon.com: ScanTool 426101 OBDLink MX Bluetooth/OBD-II Scan Tool Interface: Automotive

First you will need a OBD2 code reader that must be capable of reading the Highspeed (HS) canbus that Ford uses. If it can read the Medium Speed (MS-CAN) bus thats a plus for other purposes such as using the software known as Forscan . For the purposes of this write up I am using the OBDLink MX(what I had already). A corded USB ELM327 may work as well but depends on the quality of the knockoff sold at most locations.

Special note: If you are using Bluetooth you will need to know which com port your computer has assigned to the Bluetooth module.
Next you will need Forscan, download from here:Download FORScan.($Free) Forscan is a PC only test tool that can log several hundred different parameters at a time, read and clear all DTC's (you will get tons of dtc's during this process but no worries no long term effects are caused when done)and run individual selftests on each CAN module.

To do the window mod and shift light change you need the Focccus App, the as-built editor both of which can be found here: Ford Tools by xGloooM from ffclub.ru
You will need a windows PC with bluetooth wireless adapter. Lastly you will need the bluetooth code reader or ELM327.
The video how to above can walk you through what to do once you have these programs.

Here is the fun part. Go here: Ford Tools by xGloooM from ffclub.ru and open the AS Built editor.

type your vin number in and click download from ETIS. You should see something like this:
Image

navigate to block 184
Image
click the drop down box and change to either option 02 or 03(both work) but neither will open and close the sunroof.
Image

Now scroll back to the top and click Make XML
Image

now your pc will ask where to save the new file. Choose at your discretion as it does not matter. Go to your car and ensure your MX is plugged into the port(or Elm327). Car should be in accesory position (KOEO) key on engine off.

Now we load up the Focccus app. if you are using an OBDlink MX set your options to this
Image
note...the com port is totally dependent on your pc setup.
Click open. Focccus will now load up to this screen
Image

Now click load from file and browse to where you saved your new xml file you created. Click open. Focccus should now look like this:
Image

To confirm the settings scroll down to block 184 and verify your new global open settings. If everything is correct you are ready to write.
If everything is good click here

you should see a message about starting the write procedure. Do not turn car off or press any buttons. You will see the green bar start on the left side and transition to the right in about 7-8 seconds till it shows 100%. the lights will shut off and come right back on and then you should see a message about write successful. At this point I waited for about 30seconds at which point I turned the car off and then back on to verify startup which worked as it should. Then I rolled all the windows down and turned the car off. To verify this worked get out and push and hold the lock button for maybe 5 seconds. You will now see the windows roll up perfectly. Same procedure to roll them down only now you use unlock on the Fob. Hope this helps you!

What about global windows open/close?! That is the main reason I want to hack into my 2016.

STILL confused why they didn't/don't unlock this from the factory in the US.

Interested in doing this, and I want to mess around with the file that comes from asbuilt editor before I buy all the connectors, but for some reason the site can't find my VIN. I keep getting a message "Not Ford Focus mk3 ?". Anyone else have this problem? I have a 13 ST2 so definitely a Mk3 Focus!

#1,758 ·
I am also a 13 ST2 built in 2012. Are you sure you're not fat fingering it? Mine worked no problem when I did mine a while ago. I have since then done about four others also.

Nevermind! just tried it again before sending the message and it went through. maybe i did fat finger it and no notice each time, or something was up with the site when i was looking.

Sweet, good to hear.

Nope, I never had a problem.

So question on the key fob auto up/down. I'm having to hit the unlock/lock button twice and hold to activate, which is annoying on lock due to the horn sounding. Tried both options when setting but it's the same. Car is a MY15 so not sure if something changed. Am I missing something or can I disable the horn on double press lock?

This is a little off topic. (I think?) I recently did the FoCCCus and Forscan stuff, but it has me wondering, is there a tuning solution for PC. I'd much more prefer to tune my car straight from my computer rather then the SCT flasher. I'm thinking like Hondata style tuning, except without the huge price tag.(I refuse to use the access port, its a pride thing. Always had super chips and american vehicles.)

You're really doing yourself disservice by writing off the Accessport so blindly. Speaking as someone who used to own an SCT X4 and currently owns an Accessport, the AP3 is a far superior device in so many ways. I sold my <6 mos. old X4 for a $100 loss after having picked up my AP3. I wrote down some of my thoughts after comparing them here.

Hello to all

I have a Ford Focus SE 2015 and i would like to to the following modifications on it:

1) DRL
Lights stay on all the time, no matter the position of the light switch. Even when i have them off, the low beams will be on.

2) Global Open/close of windows

Can you please advise:
1) Is this possible to do on my car version?
2) which are the parameters i need to modify?

I have downloaded FoCCCus_0.8.6 and purchased this OBD2 interface
http://www.amazon.com/iKKEGOL-Interf.../dp/B00I9XH1NO

thanks so much in advance

For DRL edit option #16 DRL: set to Always Headlights.
I'm not sure what you mean by global open/close of windows, but if you wan't auto locking you can also enable it.

If you don't have Hill start, you can also try to enable it.

thanks to both.
could you please give me more info about the DRL parameter?

currently my car has the low beams on all the time. intensity doesnt change at all but they just keep on even if i have the light switch on the OFF position.
i would like to turn this function off so if i keep the swith in AUTO, light will only turn on when its dark out.

1) according to the Ford ETIS information of my VIN, both parameters show as below.
what are the possible options if i want to disable DRL? right now, my low beams are always on (i dont notice a reduced intensity), no matter in which position i have the lights switch (even in off).

2) are parameters 16 and 17 related between each other? i mean..do i need to use some especific combination?

thanks

I don't believe that can be changed unfortunately.

This is how mine looks on a 2013 USDM car. Not sure if this helps, but this is for a car with halogens and no DRLs.

Hello.

I have a question that I'm sure has been answered. Sifting through this is tough sometimes.

Is all of this stuff only for pre 2016 vehicles? If so, is there maybe a laymans explanation as to why? Is it all just totally different code?

What about door locks?!

All I want is global open/close, too!! Still confused as to why this wouldn't be a standard feature that is unlocked from the factory here. Does ANYONE have a logical answer to this quandary?

#1,798 ·
Marketing?!

I would think that you could use the global open/close as a marketing tool!

"Hey look! It's not gonna be hot as balls when I get into my car, because I can open the windows and let it breath as I walk up to it! Thanks, Ford!!"

Or...

"Crap! It's gonna rain outside, and I've left my windows down! Oh, no worries, Ford was smart enough to add this nifty feature that let's me roll up my windows from my key-fob!"

#1,799 ·
I seem to remember reading that there was some kind of regulation in the US that prohibits auto-closing windows without some sort of sensor that stops movement if it senses something (like a hand) is caught in its path.

#1,802 ·
Our cars TOTALLY do that. Try it! Try to roll your window up with your arm in there!

I'm thinking of trying this to disable the TPMS since Ford TPMS do not work with aftermarket valve stems, however I'm a little hesitant and would like some clarification.

I have a Canadian ST3 which has ONLY the LED strip as the DRL and with the headlights on the LED strip dims and the HIDs power on. These features were programmed AFTER delivery by the dealership through a TSB. If I were to load the ASBUILT data and change ONLY the TPMS to "01 - without monitoring system" will I also lose the way my HIDs are configured?

Thanks in advance!

Are those all European options?! I don't recall having that available.
