Just did this last night at 11,500 miles. Dark brown and nasty as everyone else said, I baby my car so I was pretty surprised. Multiple length 8MM (short and long) allen keys make this so much easier. After about 10 miles on the Motul I could feel shifts start to get smoother.

Amsoil doesn't make a fluid thats WSS-M2C200-D2 spec.
Nope...unfortunately. They do however make a DCT specific fluid, but it's only listed as meeting 936-A spec.

So here's the question...if it's a DCT fluid, what's the difference between the two specs; or rather yet, what would the down side be, if any, of running a DCT fluid that only met 936-A?

Ford made a spec for a reason. Many DCTs are different. Wet clutch, dry clutch and various versions between. Specing DCT fluid for a fully manual transmission was no doubt very well thought out. It's like a manufacturer saying to run GL4 in a manual transmission even though GL5 is a later spec. Typically that has to do with brass syncros.

You can give that fluid a shot and see what happens. If it shifts like **** then drain it and use something else.

don't mean to be a butt hole but i'm in the motherland where they have the castrol and motul for pretty cheap 11 euro. which one would be better? performance or preference?

That I couldn't tell you. I do know the spec was changed in 2011 on the MT-82 for the Mustang because of people complaining about cold shifting. Spec went from WSD-M2C200-C to WSS-M2C200-D2 on all Ford manuals. The WSD-M2C200-C is a 75W-90 gear oil part # XT-M5-QS

Just make sure it's in stock. I ordered it and didn't hear anything for a few weeks, so cancelled and went the eBay route.
Very good to know. Thanks for the heads up. @chris@pandamotorworks Is this in stock right now?

EDIT: I reached out to Panda. They have plenty in stock and ready to ship!

I changed the fluid this weekend. Man these guys weren't kidding. Shifting like butter. Changed at 35k miles, don't drive the car hard. The fluid was much more brown than I thought it would be. The hex drain plug twisted like butter while tightening it back down, don't think i'll be able to get it back off easily which is odd. I didn't over tighten, it just stripped. It was also 118*F outside when I did it though.

Yeah I didn't believe I was going to notice much of a difference after this. But you guys were right.

After I installed the boomba SS, there was a bit more force needed to move the shifter into gear. But now it's back to "stock" feel where it pretty much goes in with minimal effort.

My fluid was a coffee brown color as well @ 55k miles.
