I have the cp-e intake and did not need to remove the intake tube. I was able to access all four spark plugs without issue. More info on my spark plug change here.

The "rectangles" are coil-on-plug. Instead of a single large coil with a mechanical distributor, our cars use a small coil on top of each spark plug which is controlled electronically.
All I did was take out one bolt and disconnect the coupler from the air box and pushed the intake out of the way.

Tried to sort through all this, but the information is a bit scattered. I'm going to be running Stage 3 in relatively near future, but for now I'm about to order the Cobb intake, RMM, and AccessPort along with a cp-e FMIC and Turbosmart dual port BOV. From what I've read here, I should run two steps colder when I add the turboback exhaust and change to stage 3 tune, but for now (probably a month or two) I'll be running the Stage 2 tune. Should I go ahead and get the two stage colder plugs now, or get stage 1 until I upgrade to stage 3?

I don't believe I've seen anyone other than Fjord recommend two steps colder. FWIW, Cobb makes no claims(as far as I know) as to needing a colder spark plug for their tunes. I put ITV22's in my car and noticed absolutely zero difference in performance or reduction in knock. Theoretically they will do what they are supposed to though.

Um I will have to disagree on that one, since I am GTX turbo setup and running 22's just fine. They are a cold enough plug to run in my horse power range and for the stock turbo that can't even hit 300whp two steps is more than overkill imho.

You can run 22's no problem. but the they will wear away faster. my 24's showed 0-.001 wear on the 24's over 10k miles but the stock and 22's showed .003 wear over 10k miles.

Just ordered a set of the Colder plugs $75 UPC - 756122233986

I got about 10K on mine (ITV24's and FRPP Tune) and I pulled them and they were fine. I am going to go 15K-20K and replace. Can get them at Advance Auto or Spark Plugs.com. Advance was a little cheaper.

So, this thread is huge and im having hard time finding the info im looking for. Im going to swap my stock plugs today for a set of Denso ITV22's. I have checked the gaps on the 4 new plugs and they read approximately .28-.29. What is the best gap i should go with? Also, when i pull my old ones is there anything in particular i should be looking for such as the gap on those or specific wear? Ive never done my own plugs nor have i done one so early in vehicle engine life. I have 12k miles and tuned stage 2.

Most are running the 22's @.28. They are looking at the stock plugs to see what they were gapped coming out of the factory. 28-32 is the range. @ 12 k not gonna see much wear on plugs.

I run my 22'2 @ .28 and have had them in 5k miles. A lot less soot on the pipe, a little better mpg.
That what I wanted to know. Thanks.
