idk about that, curious how it sounded when reved up?

 

it sounded fine when i revved it initially after install. but i started driving to my girlfriends house and i thought the entire exhaust system was scraping on the highway lol, that’s how loud it was.

 

Has to be a physical contact issue somewhere underneath. Hard to believe that a new Borla would have a loose heat shield or baffle internally.

 

i bought an exhaust hanger from autozone as a quick fix before i leave for vacation, hopefully that’ll help. i’ve read some ppl actually saw the hangers that are above the axle off because they start to bang against the heat shield.

 

i had a flowmaster exhaust put on a 02 jeep (sold when i got the st) place welded it a little crooked and was rattling against the frame, took it back and had them rewld it

 

oh jeez. heard some people tell me i might need to weld something... idk how to weld lmao

 

I have that same exhaust and I have not had any problems and I think it sounds fantastic. I did install Cobb polyurethane hangers as a precaution against the possibility that the OEM ones might not be up to the task. The fit and finish was quite good and the only possibility in my recollection for mechanical interference is from worn hangers allowing the exhaust to move and vibrate against adjacent heat shields.

 

did the cobb hangers come with the one for above the axle??

update: i’m stupid. i was missing a clip for the undertray and it caused the entire tray unit to bounce around all the screws lmao.

 

to anyone in the future who might stumble upon this thread: i recommend either putting poly hangers on all the locations before installing the catback or just sawing off the hanger prong above the axle, that’s what i did 👍🏻
