2. Removal of shift light.
3. After market HIDs
4. Add Hill Assist to non ST model
5. Turn on ecoscout display
6. Windshield wiper motor calibration
7. OEM Cruise Control added to Ford Focus SE with Sync: use option #23 Cruise Control set to "with Cruise Control"

When reading or writing config changes to the different modules you will create a slurry of DTC's on the car. This is completely normal. Download and install Forscan on your pc to read and clear out all the communications DTC's.

Things you will need: Laptop with USB port and a corded USB ELM327 code reader, or bluetooth capability if you are using an OBDlink MX or similiar adapter. A BestBuy Rocketfish micro Bluetooth adapter is what I have(id recommend the fastest bluetooth module you can get your hands on for under $40.
OBDlink MX: Shop this around, sales prices all over the place, or from here:Amazon.com: ScanTool 426101 OBDLink MX Bluetooth/OBD-II Scan Tool Interface: Automotive

First you will need a OBD2 code reader that must be capable of reading the Highspeed (HS) canbus that Ford uses. If it can read the Medium Speed (MS-CAN) bus thats a plus for other purposes such as using the software known as Forscan . For the purposes of this write up I am using the OBDLink MX(what I had already). A corded USB ELM327 may work as well but depends on the quality of the knockoff sold at most locations.

Special note: If you are using Bluetooth you will need to know which com port your computer has assigned to the Bluetooth module.
Next you will need Forscan, download from here:Download FORScan.($Free) Forscan is a PC only test tool that can log several hundred different parameters at a time, read and clear all DTC's (you will get tons of dtc's during this process but no worries no long term effects are caused when done)and run individual selftests on each CAN module.

To do the window mod and shift light change you need the Focccus App, the as-built editor both of which can be found here: Ford Tools by xGloooM from ffclub.ru
You will need a windows PC with bluetooth wireless adapter. Lastly you will need the bluetooth code reader or ELM327.
The video how to above can walk you through what to do once you have these programs.

Here is the fun part. Go here: Ford Tools by xGloooM from ffclub.ru and open the AS Built editor.

type your vin number in and click download from ETIS. You should see something like this:
Image

navigate to block 184
Image
click the drop down box and change to either option 02 or 03(both work) but neither will open and close the sunroof.
Image

Now scroll back to the top and click Make XML
Image

now your pc will ask where to save the new file. Choose at your discretion as it does not matter. Go to your car and ensure your MX is plugged into the port(or Elm327). Car should be in accesory position (KOEO) key on engine off.

Now we load up the Focccus app. if you are using an OBDlink MX set your options to this
Image
note...the com port is totally dependent on your pc setup.
Click open. Focccus will now load up to this screen
Image

Now click load from file and browse to where you saved your new xml file you created. Click open. Focccus should now look like this:
Image

To confirm the settings scroll down to block 184 and verify your new global open settings. If everything is correct you are ready to write.
If everything is good click here
Image
you should see a message about starting the write procedure. Do not turn car off or press any buttons. You will see the green bar start on the left side and transition to the right in about 7-8 seconds till it shows 100%. the lights will shut off and come right back on and then you should see a message about write successful. At this point I waited for about 30seconds at which point I turned the car off and then back on to verify startup which worked as it should. Then I rolled all the windows down and turned the car off. To verify this worked get out and push and hold the lock button for maybe 5 seconds. You will now see the windows roll up perfectly. Same procedure to roll them down only now you use unlock on the Fob. Hope this helps you!

Yes you can do that, I just found it easier to use the app. I have done about 10+ cars now and I just had them email me their VIN's so I could have everything ready. But if you are not doing multiple cars in one sitting it isn't really needed.

#1,871 ·
No I don't believe so, it just lets you change options from a drop down menu to what other models might have available.

Hi,
Need your help please.
I have Ford Focus SE 1.5 - 2016
Not sure what happened but suddenly the Acknowledge hazard signals not flashing when locking the doors.

The modification i did is as below:
#32 Automatic locking by Speed - Automatic Locking
#83 Central Lock, type - Burgalproof Locks
#109 Power rear windows - Electric

Is there anyway using FOCCCUS to enable hazard signals flashing when locking the doors?
Please advice.
Thanks,

Hey @moto I just happened to be scrolling through and saw you have a 2016 ford focus SE. I have a set of aftermarket headlights, and the DRL's work properly on regular focus models, not the ST. I was wondering if there is anyway you could check your BCM settings on your 2016 focus SE.
The only ones I need are numbers 14 through 17 I believe. It would be a huge help!
If you do get that info, take a picture so I can see the settings and the little numbers next to the settings[emoji1][emoji1317]

Ha ha, I wasn't sure if it was a language thing or auto-correct gone crazy! Thanks for the clarification! I don't think there's any fix for that.

@Medic_ST and @Myfastst : I don't know if this is what you are looking for but you can change the tire diameter with the focccus app. I'd imagine it would change the speedo also, but I have not tested that theory myself as I am still running the OE size.

EDIT: The highlighted one in blue is the OE size setting.

You don't need to change anything else if you are putting in your vin# to the website. If you are reading it from the car then modifying that file then you really don't need to change anything.

What's up friends? I am Luis, I am from Mexico. My car is a Focus ST 2016. for several days I have been using 2 softwares that already know. Focccus and Forscan. Yesterday I did a small review of everything I have modified in my car, Sync 3 V 2.2 Global open / close, Climate on screen (f150 Forum codes take the risk of setting the code and it worked), seat belt warning muted, 911, ST Boot image, etc., etc, ... My question is: Has anyone else made other modifications such as: relock function, panic alarm pressing two times the key fob? And some others that you want to suggest?
I would like to exchange opinions about the codes. My comment is that according to the configuration that my car has (Mexico) there are functions that moving codes in Body Module to activate 911 assist. And that was copying the codes of a Focus of USA. The trim level that my car says is level 3, but there are things it does not have, such as: retractable mirrors, sirius (trying to install via code) and other small things. If someone helps me with their configuration As built direct from Forscan with the highest level trim I will be grateful to make a video of each of the changes according to the installed codes.

Been searching around but haven't seen anything about it. Has anyone tried changing the function of the M button to play/pause? I feel that button would actually get some use if I could pause what i'm listing to instead of changing modes, which is just stupid using that button. I don't see anything involving it in the as-built editor and I haven't plugged forscan or focccus into my car since I did my reverse camera so I don't remember seeing anything related to this function.

Speaking of reverse camera's (I installed one and have it working) sometimes my green/yellow/red distance lines are close together and sometimes they are spread out more (zoomed in). The actual video on the screen does not change zoom at all (the zoom button does nothing at least for me), however just the distance bars change randomly. Seems to happen if I go from reverse to 1st back to reverse quickly. Very odd.

has anyone made a detailed list of changes?

My list

184 -windows up/down VIA fob- set to 03 for on

178 - shift indication - set to 01 for off

101 - TPMS - set to 01 for off

--Still looking for confirmation on--

147 - 2 honks on lock while running - ?

### - Sport mode ON by default - (Would be nice to not have to hit the button 90% of the time I get in the car)

### - custom tire size (51 Tire circumference - and 70 Tire dimension options are very limited)

Any others you would like to share

Hello

After messing around with 5-10usd units, i got another ELM unit this time. This one looks more promising and features 500kbaud

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F0GVBWY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I was hopping you could help me by figuring out what are the best parameters under Windows Device manager page? What should i set under port settings and uart settings? I really want to make this right so I don't brick my cars bcm.

thanks so much

Curious as to why you would want to do that?

#1,922 ·
I don't think anyone has been able to do it, at least from what I have seen. Or.........just buy and early 2013 like mine and you don't have that issue.

#1,928 ·
Yeah I'd pay to not have to hit the damn sport button every time.

#1,934 ·
Yes you do need to enable it. I have the same setup.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't using the As-built editor a waste of time? Since you can simply click "Read BCM" in the FoCCCus app while plugged into your car to get all the values straight from your car.

(Unless you are for some reason wanting to revert to stock and don't want to manually change values back)

Sorry if this is a repeat and who knows how old this thread is.

I'm new, I got all the software and cables etc. I followed what you posted as well as what I found on YouTube, but my software hits 92% and gives me a freaking error! =(

It's really irritating me. It says VBF checksum error. It says this when I try and read to BCM & write to BCM!

Please help me! I'm at a loss as to what to do! =(

Thank you so much in advance!

Nate

I had similar issues and kept trying and eventually got it to work. I suspect issues with the cheapo OBD2 device I bought. I would advise against repeated tries as it might brick your electronics and then you would have to pay Ford to fix it. However that's exacary what I did and it eventually worked.
