Transmission shift linkage help please

Hey everyone, I've run into a bit of an issue with my shifter after swapping out my engine. It seems like the linkage is messed up, but I tried doing the reset and it didn't do anything.

Here's the issue:
Going up from neutral I have one gear; regardless of I start in first, third, or fifth, the shifter always goes to the third position. Going down from neutral I also have one gear; regardless of whether I start in second, fourth, or sixth, the shifter always goes to the fourth position.

It gets a little ****y because I don't have reverse, but pulling up on the reverse lockout gives me two more gears to shift into.

I've tried every possible way to reset the shifter cables but haven't had any luck. If anyone has ever run into this or has any other ideas please let me know! I can post videos if needed.

Thank you so much!

Have a helper shift through gears, or put your phone out in the engine bay and go through them all while recording. See if the side to side lever is moving at all (the cable with the lock clip for the neutral reset). If it is, make sure the lock clip for the neutral reset isn't allowing slop in the cable

Are you sure you don't have an aftermarket shift rod in the car?
I think JBR and maybe another had that issue and tweaked the cable reset procedure to make it work. Usually.

If you have a shift knob that is lowered, especially by threading the shift arm more, the stock lockout link won't work but can be replaced by a cable tie to shorten the distance.

If the lockout link is broken or missing, it could still be functionally replaced with a cable tie.

The lockout link pulls the plastic piece up.
