I think I got the deal of a lifetime tonight...

From a nearby Craigslist seller, I picked up brand-new (still sealed):

Thule ARB53 53" Aero Bars ($199.95)
Thule Rapid Traverse 480R Foot Pack ($199.95)
Thule 4-pack Lock Cylinder kit ($59.95)
Thule 24" SurfPad Aero x 2 ($44.95)
Thule 13' Lockable Strap x 2 ($79.95)
Thule Express Straps x 2 ($39.95)

I got all of that for... $200! If my math is right, the MSRP is $624.70. I still have to get the fit kit for each of my cars (ST and family sedan), but that's only $110 per car at full cost. Didn't need the surf pads or extra straps, but they're just bonus as far as I'm concerned (and I still got better than 50% off on the rest).

I feel like I should go buy a lottery ticket. I NEVER get deals like this. Friends and family members do, but never me. Until today, I guess.

Now I gotta figure out how to get a new XL-sized Thule cargo carrier for 67% off...

So my Yakima rack decided to fall off my car. Thank god it fell off less than a mile from my house but, it ended up putting a small dent in the roof and put some rub marks on the spots where the rack attached to the car. Oh and I was using the Updated Q-Clips for the rack. I have not tried to contact Yakima on it yet, but I am planning on it. I was pissed off beyond my normal pissed off mood.

No clue! O had it on the car all summer with out and issue. First time I used it I was fine. But this time I want on the Highway doing between 70 and 80 and it did not seem to like it. It was fine 40 minutes before this it was fine. I Checked everything out on it and gave it a shacked down (literately) and it was all tight. Just not happy with the set up, It work great and fine on my old 05 but not this car.

I was able to pick up the fit kit off of ebay for my ST. I'll be able to use everything else from the rack for my Fusion. I'll place that fit kit on the big auction site and hopefully break even!

I use all Thule. My wife has a Flex w/the factory rails so she has the Thule rack that straps onto them. We had a Volvo prior to the Flex and picked up a full rack w/Volvo all over it, but it is all Thule. We still have the rooftop box and bike racks from that rack.

hello everyone, this is me buying and installing my rhino roof rack. i would love to see the support from everyone on the focus st page to give me a subscribe to my channel. it would me the world to me to have everyone here subscribed to my channel. thank you guys

Here a video of my install. thank you to everyone. please share, and tell a friend :

What cargo boxes are you guys running that leave enough clearance for the rear hatch to fully open? I'm looking at storage for a few snowboards for day/weekend trips.

I'm also interested in this answer. I haven't installed my Yakima rack yet but I'm hoping my Yakima Skybox LoPro fits. I'm guessing it will hit when you open the hatch but hopefully not too bad.

Apologies in advance for the double post, I'm just excited.

Departing the Gulf Coast, destined for the West Coast tomorrow. Via local Craigslist deals, I'm into the setup for $700. More than I wanted to spend but it was convenient and very short notice. Thule 53" Aeroblades with locks and a Yakima Carbonite Skybox 16ci. I'll order some shorter hatch struts as this setup has contact between the cargo box and spoiler. I had picked up a Rhino Rack fairing off Amazon, but the clips for it will raise the nose of the Yak box ~1/2", and will make installation of the box a PITA.

End goals is for Rhino 2500RS bars/mounts, not sure on the cargo box yet. I really like the space of the Skybox, but something low profile would be better for MPGs, as long as I can fit 2-3 snowboards to accommodate conditions.

She's a work in progress, but she has me smiling when I look at her. That's what matters.

44inches is about the max you can run on our rack before it legit goes over.

I just went to sun and ski and picked up the Thule Fairing 44inch. Not sure what the product number was, but its for our aero bars. Easy install and since the Ford rack is made by Thule I thought i'd keep the theme :)

Perhaps you can help me Tursko, but if anyone else knows the answer to this I'd appreciate it.

Does this 44 inch Thule fairing work for the square bars also? I just got a Thule rack finally and I really want to get a fairing for it and want to stick with Thule branding and I'm unsure which to get.

Yes they do. It comes with both adapters. My and my friend bought our fairings at the same time, same exact ones and he has square and I have the other type. Came with everything you need!

I recently installed my Rhino rack and its great. I'll get some pictures for this thread. I would warn anyone with a sunroof about wind fairings though. I purchased the 44" Rhino Rack fairing and installed it. While going down the highway with the sunroof tilted or open, I was getting some extreme buffeting. I felt like if I left the sunroof open, it was buffeting hard enough to cause damage over time. I ended up removing the fairing and I have no issues. I'm keeping the fairing off and selling it, plus I personally like the look better without the fairing. I'd be interested to know if anyone else experienced any issues like this with their sunroof and wind fairing.

I have a fairing (yakima) with my yakima rack and have my sunroof cracked or completely open and have no issues at all with wind/buffeting. Maybe it depends on the fairing shape or maybe the position of it. Idk how different Yakimas position to Rhino is, I'm sure it can't be much.

I think I'm definitely going to run it WITHOUT the fairing for like a week to see how I feel about it BEFORE purchasing a fairing since it'll save me money at least anyway. I just really like how cars look with fairings that I've seen. Hmm. Always a hard decision with this car

Got the Thule rack kit installed today. Followed Thule's website recommendations for pieces. Install was easy enough, but the front bar was a little fussy going on. I picked up some 8mm clear protective film off amazon to go under the rubber feet and protect my paint too. Sadly, it wasn't wide enough to cover where the metal bits grip the roof under the weather sealing. Looks good though. Ran outta light and it started raining, so I'll put my bike racks on it tomorrow afternoon.

I've done the same thing with the paint protection film. At first I put down 6" x 4.5" under the front feet and 6" x 5.5" under the rear feet. I found that 6" was just barely wide enough, and it was hard to maintain perfect alignment with the feet of the rack. I ended up pulling that off and laying down 8" x 4.5" in the front and 8" x 5.5" in the back and I feel like I have good coverage now. It was also kind of fun to learn how to apply PPF and now I want to cover other areas of my car.
