Tad Disappointed in Diode Dynamics SLF Fog Bulbs

Installed Diode Dynamics SLF (yellow LED) bulbs last week. While they are brighter than stock, I've been a little disappointed in the light output. Is this due to the lack of projectors? Was I too optimistic about the increase in output? I can still barely tell that I even have my fogs on while driving, even now that they are yellow. I have never messed with angling the fog/headlights.

Appreciate any insight.

View from outside the car. Should there be such a large gap between beams?

I had the same thought initially but I suspect it's due to the lights being aimed too low. The wetaher here has made aiming the headlights and fogs a job for another day. It's misleading having the wall that close; you'll get a much better idea of how things stand if you can put the car 25 ft away from the wall. How to Adjust Car Headlights to adjust your headlights and as far as the fogs go line them up roughly parallel or just slightly below the foglight centre line.

True. Maybe I'll take a stab at adjusting them once we get some weather here too.

I cant comment on your setup other than i do prefer my fogs to add to the peripheral throw vs just being in the center of vision. So the gap in the center wouldnt bother me as i want fogs to light up the sides of the car where the main headlights do not reach. Most of us arent using fog lights for their intended purpose of low speed visibilty in incremental weather ;)

That being said, Diode Dynamics claim their LED's use the same throw pattern as oem. So, did you happen to do a before shot with your oem bulbs to compare or see if your oem fogs did the same thing?
The throw is definitely wider than stock, so can't complain too much. Just thought it would be more noticeable from inside the car. I think the OEM HIDs are overpowering the fogs as well, as they should.

I see you also have a pre facelift car. My fog lights at 50,000 miles were so badly peppered from stones and road debris that its a wonder any light got out. What light did was badly dissipated. That being said, it doesn't matter if you put the brightest bulb on the planet behind those lenses, the light will suck. Migh be worth a closer look.

Also when you stray from the pure white light area of the spectrum (whether you go to the cooler end or the warmer end) you reduce the amount of light wavelengths that return to your eye, hence not seeing as much.

I bought the Diode dynamics Luxeon foglights (the complete assemblies), installed some headlight armor on them to keep them from getting peppered, and the output and pattern of them is phenominal. I took a video showcasing the setup.

Wow those are bright!! Yeah my '14 is at 74k and the stock fog housings are junk. Might just have to send them back and upgrade to the new housings. I've also seen guys throw in projectors from a fusion.
