I owned a dart. They suck. Very slow, doesn't respond to any mods. No body on their forums have broke into the 200 range on hp or tq. It's a shame for a car that looks so nice and has GOBS of tech in it, it's just a turd lol.

I've actually had a few of these honk at me trying to get me to run them; I usually humor them until the top of first and then leave them wondering what just happened. I was genuinely surprised at how slow they are.

What's the point of all that tech with THREE wheezy ass engines? Who's idea was this...three engine choices 184/171, 160/184 OR 160/148 ... seriously? A group of highly paid adults came up with this idea? Its stupid - it should have come with 1 eco engine (low price) option and one performance (turbo 4 - Dodge stick to doing what you do best god damnit). Why do you need three underwhelming powertrain options?

They could have just thrown the old (neon) SRt-4 in there and it'd have probably sold it's ass off.

Yeah, I don't know what they are thinking when they do that. All economy cars should come with one diesel engine, one base engine and one performance version.

Or if you are to spread 3 engines between 160-184 hp, then all you really need is one 170 HP engine.

This is incorrect.

Tork Motorsports offers tuning for the 1.4t. I know their initial numbers when developing the calibration were near 200whp.

I'm not gonna dig up the current numbers with bolt ons and such while at work.

As I said earlier, the car isn't in the same league as the ST but it's not a total turd either. With a good driver and a few mods it can definitely lay down some respectable times.

"Near 200" not quite. Lol. Dude I owned one dumped $2500 in it and it was probably slower than when I started. I know about Tork having the PCM replacement but much like us they are maxed out fuel wise. I had a few Tork parts myself they are great quality their MS3 is a bad MF. I maintain a close relationship with a few dart owners I met when I had mine through IG and the car just wasn't meant to make power.

And bolt ons literally don't do a single thing, the computer takes the gains away.

I know a kid from my graduating HS class who was given a dodge dart mopar edition and he acts like he has the fastest thing on wheels. he also goes on and on about how "it's 1 of only 500 made!" and he said during the test drive: "I was going 110 before I knew it." He was bragging around about how he was gonna come back from the dodge dealership with an SRT challenger. He came back with a dart and was talking about how much faster it felt to him.... He saw me in my ST about a month ago at cookout and laughed at me and gave me a thumbs down. lol. :haha:

Gotta love tools like that. At least he got a cute interior though ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the SRT4 Neon powered by Mitsu?
Not sure about the engine but the turbo was from the Evo 8, I believe. A fairly large turbo is why they made so much power with bolt ons. (TD04-16G)

Once again, I may be wrong.

I feel like they are really missing the mark, especially with ms3 being no more, there's a gap for another high hp fwd. As Benedict Arnold as it may sound, I'd be pretty interested in an SRT dart... Nah ;)

karson, if you really want to get him going just mention he should've waited for the 2014 Dodge Dart with SCAT package.

I get the cold air intake hood scoop as its naturally aspirated but why the cowling vents behind it? Looks like its a fake inter-cooler vent cowling, if so that's complete silliness.

The Mopar badging on Fiat bits must have Dodge enthusiasts gritting their teeth something fierce.

The rear vents are heat extraction. The low pressure area at the windshield cowl with high pressure air going across it will cause hot air to be lifted out of the engine bay. That's why there's a ridge slightly in front of that area. Has nothing to do with an intercooler.

He was posting pictures/videos of his car on facebook and instagram and talking about how his car was so fast, and "delivered with 2 miles on the odometer." He talked about how "performance oriented" his car was, while mostly focusing on his interior and fancy blue leather seats. :haha:

Man Mopar missed the bus on this one, LOL the power train sucks! they don't even offer an SRT, and if they are trying to replicate old school dart, they are way off! It's too bad, I had a 69 dart GTS 440 "that thing hauled A**" it turned a 12:29 in the 1/4 mile and beat just about everything I raced against at the track with stock tires even! That was a true Dart! But I guess the new Dart has a good stereo in it LOL

An M code 440 Dart hardly represented what a Dart was. It was a one year only model and less than 1000 were made. Even the 340 and 383 cars were about as common as an ST.

The essence of a 60/70s Dart was a 4dr compact car with a /6 engine, in other words an economy car. The new Dart is true to its heritage.
