Where did you find the plug for the USB? I can't find the end of the factory USB plugs to use the USB transfer cable as intended. That is what you are supposed to do, find the end of the factory USB plug, it goes into the transfer cable which then plugs into the radios included USB cable in order to make the factory USB plugs work. I've saw one video of a car with Sync 2 that had a media hub in the console, and when they pulled the media hub out the connection to it is exactly what I need. I don't have that media hub in my car though.
EDIT: Nvm, about the USB plug. I found it finally. When I was tracing the wire from the USB under the climate control I was following it with my hand where I couldn't see it and thought it was going into a cluster of wires. It was actually going up and over a box then down behind the box and back underneath it to plug in. No idea why they routed that wire that way lol. So, I just had to unplug it from that box. I'm guessing that box is the main sync control system. So, I was able to use the USB Transfer line as I suspected to get the front USB port working with the radio. The Console one is still plugged into that box though, they only sent one transfer line. I'm guessing because the one in the console is used for upgrades and such? Not a big deal, I can route the second USB plug over to the glovebox to hide an accessible connection in there.
Yeah I know the boot time is somewhat normal, although slower than other tablets I own lol. Is just an annoyance that I can probably live with.
What version of android is on your radio? That is one of the things I tried questioning phoenix radios about. Their website says it's android 4.x.x and I was wondering if that is accurate. The one I got came with android 6.0.1. Still a very outdated version of android but not as bad as 4.x lol. What launcher are you going to change to? Is there another one that is good for car radios? Perhaps that is why mine is rooted because it has already had the launcher changed, I don't know. I just wish they had disclosed the fact that it was rooted since some apps just won't work with a rooted device. I've asked them if there is a way to remove the root and they are checking into it for me.
