do you know what MCU you have (it would be in the about tablet page)?

if not could you post a screen shot of the about tablet page?

How long does Phoenix usually take to reply to you? I am interested in this system as I'm looking at upgrading my head unit. I was originally looking at android auto radios and thinking about waiting for one of the wireless units to come out this month. But this android radio looks pretty appealing too. I especially like how the focus specific model for it has the best looking dash kit I've seen. It even has the proper chrome trim around the vents that none of the other kits have. And with it being supposedly plug and play and such, would be a lot cheaper overall.

But, I emailed Phoenix 2 days ago with some questions about the units and they haven't replied yet. I don't want to get the unit and have problems and have to be waiting multiple days between every reply when contacting them if that is the norm. I have a 2016 ST1 and from what I've seen on the research I've done on this radio people have had mixed results. Some seem to indicate it installed no problems completely plug and play, others say they had to splice some wires, while others like you still don't have everything working on it (but you don't have an ST1 which some have referenced as possibly part of the problem?). So that is one thing I was asking the company about, if it has actually been tested and verified working in a 2016 ST1. I'm guessing it hasn't been and they are just assuming it's compatible. A lot of these companies don't seem to take note that the systems changed in 2015 (see the unlock button still on every single aftermarket dash kit including this one).

Im chatting with hangouts and they reply frequently via mail also. But yii gave an st3 like me, cause st1 was some year ago. My st3 is 2015! Is more compatible with focus 3,before 2015

I guess they don't want to do business with me or something lol. I don't see their hangouts contact information posted anywhere. Tried contacting them through facebook messenger which says "usually responds in a few hours" and no response in over 24 hours, that is quite a bit more than a few. Their Skype messenger shows unavailable every time I've checked it.

I mean, I'm already questioning if the radio itself would work, but them not responding to any form of messaging makes it even more of a sketchy operation because of the inability to get support on the product if I did order it and had issues with it.

@MarcusFoFo: Not much update here - Phoenix Radios will respond to me once or twice, and then disappear. I have two support threads with them that both completely died mid-conversation.

I also got fed up and just re-ordered a new head unit asking for them to include the proper wiring harness (a completely new entire HU order from scratch), and submitted dash photos and ... nothing. they took my money but still no response other than the auto confirmation email.

So i'm still in a waiting game.

We'll see how this week goes as far as my new order. I'll update soon..

I ended up ordering one of these to try out, but I ordered it from an ebay seller that actually responded to me and answered some of my questions. Only downside is they are in China so it'll be a month before I get it lol. But per the China seller, they confirmed that it is supposed to be truly plug and play with my 2016 ST1. We'll see if it actually is or not. If it's not, I'll just return it. If it requires some minor wiring that is easy to figure out, I might proceed with it. I'm fairly technically and can probably figure it out, I just want minimal splicing into factory wires. I just think this one is the best looking after market dash that we can get, so I'm really hoping I can get it to work. If not I'll end up going with a Scosche and wireless android auto when they release this month. That is just a much more expensive route and Scosche hasn't responded to my questions confirming compatibility in over a week.

Just a quick update: still no response from phoenix android radios. I've contacted them over the last week via email, phone, online chat, online contact form, and facebook. In all cases, I've been completely ignored.

Keep in mind they've already taken my money.

@steven6282: I originally purchased a unit from the ebay listing that ships from China. They will definitely respond and ship the unit to you. The only problem I had with them was that they shipped the wrong wiring kit. That's what created this huge problem i'm stuck with. Make sure they see your dash before sending the unit, as they rush-shipped my order 1.5 hours after they asked for dash pics. Since they are in China, that 1.5 hours was while i was sleeping. :(

Do you have a picture of the connectors that they sent with your first unit?
@Marco you could probably get the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket adapter IE maestro RR, or something similar.

focusfanatics has some good info in their ICE forum

@Aceman Yeah, I sent them pictures of my dash and all before they shipped it. If it's not right then I'll return it, no big deal. I was waiting for the wireless android auto radios to come out before doing anything when I found this so decided to give it a try. So, I'm not in a rush.

quick update...on the new site with community etc... the worte that the steering wheel controls are nt' supported for 2015 focus!!!!
@MarcusFoFo What new site / community are you referring to here? The seller I talked to seemed sure that everything was supported on my 2016. Of course they are just a seller and probably don't really know. I'm not planning on spending another 200 dollars on a maestro or anything like that to retain steering wheel controls. I mean, I would if I went with a wireless android auto head unit, but that is an expected cost there, this one is advertised as working and plug and play so I don't plan to spend it for this unit.
