My interesting (but good) experience with Clarke Transmissions.

So, a while back I posted about my transmission having issues about popping out of 4th (main damage ended up being the 3/4 shift fork). I got a core from @Skykri that ended up needing so much work done to it that it ended up being cheaper to pay a reputable builder to rebuild the transmission for me. After doing my research and hearing bad things about Jack's, I decided to take my transmission to Clarke's, and with my luck, thank God I did.

So, I order a transmission with a core exchange, brakes (still haven't gotten those on yet), and an ACT 6 puck, and play the waiting game. Transmission comes in, and with a few buddies we take on the task of swapping the transmission and get it done over the course of about 12hrs taking our time, torquing everything to Ford's torque specs, and having to run to the parts store for random bits and bobs. It installs with no issue, and gets filled with Motul DCT with 1.7-1.8qts (whatever it takes to get it to come out the fill hole) and all is well (or so I thought). I drive it for 150ish miles through town with no issues, until I am cruising on the highway at 70mph on the way home from a doctor's appointment with my girlfriend in the passenger seat. As we are getting close to getting off the highway, a loud bang happens, and registers as a -6 degree correction on the knock sensor that is closest to the trans. My first thought was maybe the clutch had an error in manufacturing, which I thought was the case until I ran the trans in the air.

After I did that, I heard crunching in the diff area, and immediately talked to my good buddy @Skykri and Clarke, sending them the videos of it running in the air. Both immediately think that it's the differential that went bad, and that Clarke got sent a bad WaveTrac differential. Clarke seeing that, without question started the process of building a new transmission to swap out for me. Instead of having a normal for our time interaction of someone not supporting their products which they back after their sale, Colby Clarke and Clarke Transmissions have been nothing but helpful in making this process as painless as possible.

I also took it to my friend and local mechanic as another set of eyes, and Clarke also paid for the labor for the transmission for something that was neither of our faults for my local mechanic.

The transmission that's in my car now shifts wonderfully, and the WaveTrac diff almost completely got rid of torque steer in a straight line and feels great taking corners onto on ramps onto the highway. Until it warms up and I get more traction, I won't be able to tell my final thoughts after ripping on some back roads in the middle of nowhere Missouri as I need traction to be able to push it. It's too cold for me to push it anywhere right now and too slick (roads are completely iced over today as I type this), so I don't know quite how I feel yet about the LSD.

If you end up needing an ST/RS transmission repaired (and are too scared to tackle it yourself from what could go wrong), I highly recommend that you hit up Clarke. He's super responsive to questions, and for being a one man band, gets his work done in a timely manner.
