*exit - meh, i think everybody knows what it looks like, seems this is more debate on HOW to get it

So I was curious about this as well and did a bit of research. The IPC module is most certainly firmware upgrade able but it resides on a network running at a much lower speed. The flash time to push this module up to the current versions takes roughly 1hr. I was able to flash this on my car earlier today with no issues.

This update should be fully available at your local dealer. Simply ask them to run an update on your IPC module next time you are in for service and go out for a long lunch.

So just to be sure, we're saying it IS possible?

Yes! It's not part of any campaign however. This means you would need to ask them to do it explicitly.

Can we get pics? Also is there a way to do with out going to the dealer? I do all the work on the car myself so I don't go in

Pics of? The update offers the new boot screen and 4 quadrant summary as the previous posters have shown. It could be done as DIY but you're looking at about $3000-5000 for the proper hardware, software, and licenses to make it happen. That's why this particular update is better suited for processing at the dealer level (free!).

Is there a number that goes along with the update? My service department is horrible and unless I give them the correct information I'll probably end up with the base focus firmware.

Look for the pictures which showed the the difference in software levels, although there is no service bulletin so they won't likely know what you mean anyway.

you were correct. There are 3 types of interior clusters.

*EDIT* I removed the details as I don't think I'm allowed to share them. *EDIT*

you were correct. There are 3 types of interior clusters.

Cluster - Level 0 (4 line monochrome dot matrix)

Cluster - Level 3 (including color TFT display)

SmartGauge with EcoGuide

With that information I have noticed that there are two different cluster level 3 displays. I don't know why it's not on here. one of them was on a base ST and this one didn't have the four boxes in the trip menus where as the ST3 I won does have the 4 boxes in the trip menus. So I'm thinking there are 2 different 4.2" TFT displays.

Thanks for confirming that there is an upgrade. Is there reference number or firmware version number that can be used when discussing this with the dealership?

Brandon - What does IPC stand for?

This must have came out recently as an update, As I initially tried to push an update to my original ST2 (built in august 2012) and it did not give the newer cluster revision. I also talked to ford engineering about 3 months ago and asked for the ability to update it. I was told it wasn't possible. Since then I have gotten a new ST3 built may 2013 so I haven't had a car to try it on. I have the equipment if anyone in my area wants to update their IPC. Let me know
