How will participating in an AutoX event affect the factory warranty?

Providing that I keep the vehicle completely stock, what warranty issues might come about by participating in an AutoX event?

Will the dealership be able to tell that I have ever ran the car at an AutoX event? Some folks seem to think that manufacturers compile lists from track day registrations and black list participants. This seems a little too "tin-foil-hat" to me.

Also, I purchased the maintenance package. Could they decide to not replace brake pads because of participating in an AutoX event?

You'll be fine (man, some of you all are really paranoid about warranties). The only obvious mark of an autox on a car is aggressive shoulder wear on tires and really some spirited driving can do the same thing. Keep on top of your tire rotations (along with occasional tire flips) and don't talk about using your car for competition and your warranty will be fine.

MY Dealer gave me a Card for AutoX event at a college lol. Said sevral of the Employese compete there for fun, its not SCCA for what I understand. But Why buy a Track purpose car if you couldn't take it on the track, Even ford CALLS it track ready DD.

The video is great example of why you should pick and choose your auto-x events. Auto-x is generally safe from a human health standpoint, but things like light poles, curbs, fences, etc. should be considered and evaluated because they can seriously damage the car. Don't assume the track designers had the imagination to consider all the possible scenarios of a wreck into an off-track obstacle.

As for the dealer determining if the car was auto-x, the only possible sign would be the tires as something mentioned previously. When racing, you should pump up the tires quite a higher than what you would for the street. That should help combat some of the wear OR consider an aftermarket set of rims/tires.

If you're a tin hat type, you can tape over your plate number # and VIN while at the event.

Best one ever... took my Mustang in for warranty work... still had my numbers on the windshield and my helmet in the back seat... service writer got in to check my mileage... he get's out and asks, "Why do you have a helmet in your car?" and gives me a smile! Got my faulty Throttle Body Sensor replaced... even though I had a N2O kit installed in plain site.... LOL
