How does one sit in Focus ST?

How does one sit? Does one sit up high or low? Does one sit far back or close to wheel? How does one sit?

I sit up high and close mostly because I am a manlet. I feel weird though, so I might lower the seat a little. Isn't this an exciting topic?

Oh, what about your headrest(if you have ST3). Do you have it poke you in the dome or have it straight up?

I usually have the seat floored out, but lifted it a couple cranks recently to give more of a bend in my legs which added lots of comfort. I sit moderately close as I also no the tallest. lol

The head rest is titled partially forward. It took me a few months of it poking me in the back of the head to find out that it moved.

Currently I sit so high & whack my head all the time (sunroof lip) 6'3" so i am all the way back..steering wheel is pretty low and deep. I change positions like once a month, just 'cause.

I'm with the ST2 package, 6'1". My seat is floored and my steering wheel is all the way down and pulled out as far as possible. Seat back angle is pretty much 100-90 degrees. I sit up straight, no gangsta leanin' in my ST. Basically set up as if I was street racing. I have full range of motion on the wheel with both hands locked at 10 and 2, my shoulders and back rarely come off the seat when I'm turning. Right elbow sits on the center console and I shift with 70% wrist and 30% elbow&shoulder. Legs are bent but not in my chest and I can press each pedal properly. One benefit to having a size 12 foot is that with the right shoes I can hit the brake and gas with the inside and outside edges of my shoe sort of like a heel-toe maneuver.

Wheel all the way down and toward me. Seat as low as it goes and seatback at a slight recline but almost straight up. Forward until arms almost 90 deg. Sometimes one pump to raise the seat a bit as I found it makes it a bit more comfortable.

Getting in is easy. Its the getting out that will get you.

I am 5' 9" with long arms and legs, a short torso. The #1 key to seating position is the clutch pedal. the is the one thing that has to be set correctly, then everything else follows from that.
I set the clutch while I am also adjusting the seat bottom back (as they affect each other.) I typically run the seat bottom down in back as far as it can go. If the seat front moves, that is tilted up. Bucket seat style is my goal.
The steering wheel up/down totally so I can see between the spoke to the gauges clearly. the front back of the steering wheel is set so my arms when at the top can be straight out, or nicely curled if near the bottom of the steeringwheel, and balanced when at the 9 and 3 position.
The seat back is rather more straight UP than usual (compared to most other drivers. I cannot stand leaning back very far to drive.. makes me go crazy.. like I am driving some sort of messed up armchair recliner instead of a car...)

The rear view mirror is twisted up on it's mount up as high as it can be pushed, (unlike many who like it low.. I want it up out of the way, and thus also get a better picture of what is behind me) Side mirrors to fill in all blind spot to sides. So I just catch the vehicle next to me with perepheral as it leaves the mirror.. usually that, for me and my upright seating position moves the left mirror angled almost as far outward as it can go.

Once i have a nice seating position I am happy, and rarely change it at all. It annoys me if a seviceman alters the seat while doing service. (But I can understand the need in a car with a clutch)

I sit straight and far enough back that I don't have to stretch my leg to depress the clutch fully. I have the seat one crank from its highest setting so pedal action isn't at an awkward angle. I also have the wheel extended so I am not reaching for it and tilted so that I can easily see the gauges.

Got my **** bottomed out. I'm 6'2". The car still feels way taller and truck-like than my last car (MINI Cooper S), but I fit in it just fine.

Not sure on my headrest setting... Did not know of the pivotz.. Hmm

Also, this thread is amusing.

I have to sit gangster as F### to make the recaros work.

I get it that they want you to sit with the proper posture, i simply cant do it in these tiny ST3 seats. I've tried everything single possible combo.

What works best for me is my head between the front window and back window, and seat all the way to the floor, Steering wheel all the way up and extended towards me.

6'2 235 lbs.
