We all know how valuable of a tool FORScan is and what it can do for our cars. So, let's start getting to the nitty gritty, and understand what all this program can do four our cars.

What you'll need to do anything mentioned in this thread:
  • A laptop with FORScan
  • An OBD2 ELM Cable or a bluetooth ELM cable
In order, here is what you will need to do:

1.Plug in/connect to the ELM OBD2 adapter you have either purchased, or already have.
2. Open FORScan, and click the plug to connect to your vehicle. (If you don't have a license, get a free extended license from their website, it lasts 2 months).
3. When this screen pops up, click yes to continue.
Image

4. When the screen pops up to make a new vehicle profile, do it, and save the backup to your hard drive.
5. It should now load all the control modules, and from here on we'll hit the highlights, and then go to the obscure of what you can enable or disable with your vehicle.

Since I'm limited with the amount of attachments per post, I'm going to just focus on the BdyCM (main), and hit the main things people want from it on this thread starter. Other modules will be included in replies, but let's start with the main things people want from this module, and that is Bambi Mode, and Global Windows. In addition, if there is something I miss out on, please feel free to mention it in the replies to this thread as well.

To do that, we are going to have to go into the BdyCM (main), as seen below:
Image

With any module here forward, it will be in this screen (the chip) and you will be able to find it by scrolling up and down. Click on the BdyCM as seen here, and click play.

With this module, this is the only time this screen should come up, click yes, and follow any instructions that come with it.
Image

Once you're in, set mode to Engineering 1.
Image

Scroll down and find Foglight function, double click click it, and set it to foglamp without restrictions, as seen here:
Image

Click the check, and if you have engineering mode enabled, you'll have bambi mode.
We aren't done in the BdyCM (main) yet, so don't exit and save quite yet. Next, you'll probably want to enable global windows while you're in there, so find Global Open/Close, and set it up as I have shown below:
Image

Click the checkmark, and save what you've done by writing it to the BdyCM (main) by clicking Write, confirm changes, and then the stop button.

BdyCM (main) extras:
Headlight type:
Image

Set this to whatever you are using, stock is either unconfigured or 09.

Tire sizes:
Image

Set this to whatever is closest to what you're currently running, and your speedometer will be adjusted accordingly.

Battery Type:
Image
Set this to whatever battery you are running and it will be charged accordingly.

AGS Disable for stock cars:
Image

Set the Active Grill Shutter PID to this, and you will get rid of any codes you have from removing the grill shutter from a stock car.

Next, I'll get into the BdyCM and what you can do there.

Just checked it this morning and it says on their "what's new" page they're resuming sales as of March 3, so looks like it's good to go again.

They go back and fourth with sanctions, so it goes away and comes back again occasionally lol

I'm going to do some FORScan stuffs over the weekend, so if there are not any updates I'll chime in with the current 'free license' or whatever is going on. I know my last free trial has expired since I've used it.

Too bad I just got a used laptop that was supposedly running on a battery with more than 70% capacity, but it dies in less than 30 minutes while just sitting there without any apps open, ROFL!. It's puffed and I can source a new one, but haven't yet. So I'm a bit screwed with how much/long I can toy around in the car, but I will at least update the license portion once I get to it.

Hey everyone. I am unable go get into the bcm (main) and keep getting this error:

I have tried a bunch of different sites but they seem to all now require dealer credentials to log in. Anyone have the file downloaded they could just post in this thread? Trying to do bambi mode and globa entry all windows.

I had to do this very thing last night while playing around with Forscan. My downloaded file name matches yours so I've attached it with a .txt extension. Just change it back to .vbf and place it in the directory.

If it doesn't work for some reason then follow this post to download the file from Ford - How to download SBL (second bootloader) for ForScan - 2022
FYI, when you get to the part about typing in the file name without the extension, hit enter while in the text box to generate the correct zip file to download, then click the download file button. If you just type in the text box and click the download button all you'll download is a generic .asp file which does nothing.

Once you have the file on your computer and run the bcm(main) module, don't freak out with all the warnings and faults that are displayed on the dash. Just follow the prompt to turn your ignition off. I usually wait until all the dash lights go dark before turning the ignition back on again, maybe about a minute or so, but that's just me because I don't want to leave it off too long and possibly lose the Forscan connection to the vehicle. Forscan will remind you to turn the ignition on after you click to write to module.

I think the hang comes from the balance shaft. I'm not sure how it's hooked up or how it necessarily operates. By that I mean I don't know if you can just turn it off but instead would have to be removed. I could be wrong though. I just remember reading something about somebody installing a balance shaft delete for a smidge more hp and to allow the revs to drop faster.

Are any of you guys that used the forscan abs & line change option for brake bleeding leaving the cap tight on the fluid reservoir while bleeding the fluid?

#70 ·
the thing about that is you only need to do it like once per circuit. bleed, cycle and bleed once more to ensure a complete flush. Yea I put the cap back on, not because I fear spilling, but just because it’s a habit, to not leave opened reservoirs unattended.

I also found it way easier to use an obd scanner to do the task vs busting out a laptop

Went and uploaded all the photos here to imgur, so hopefully when they update the site in a few years this stuff won't be taken down along with it.

If you have a FL cluster, you can absolutely do that. Open the IPC and you can see all chimes and warnings can be disabled.

So I found out a little "gotcha" after my last forscan updates a couple weeks ago. I just randomly did a dtc read on the AP today while sitting at a red light and got the items listed above. The cel wasn't on, BTW.

The p2610 is related to the engine off timer which can be due to a few things, one of which is misconfigured stuff in the modules which causes the timer to not start when it should.

I had changed a few things the last time I was in forscan (couple weeks ago), one of which was the tire circumference. In the BCM there are 2 different places related to the tires. One of the places it lists 235/40R18 for the size and another tire-related one showed circumference. The odd thing I noticed was the one size value was correct (235/40/18) while the other listed 215/50 and (I think) 1930mm for the circumference. I figured I'd fix it, so I updated the value to the "correct" one, wrote the data, and went inside the house, not giving it another thought. Today, I finally noticed the DTC with the oddball codes after I ran the code read.

I got home and pulled up forscan on the laptop while hooked to the car... I tried to reset the codes and the p160A was stuck... There was no getting rid of it. I figured it was probably related to the tire size change since those were the only two things which were related and now not configured per the factory settings (even though it now was right). I reset the circumference to the factory (technically wrong) setting, wrote the data, and the misconfigured code disappeared. I'll still watch for the other code to come up (p2610) over the next few days, but at least the misconfiguration code is gone. Weird, huh?

My car has an accurate speedo for my 255/35s...

But I have this code, too. No CEL means I'm not worried.

Found some new ones

Removes radio menu restrictions while in motion on ST1 radio
APIM
Disable "Driver Distraction Rules"

Removes Key Fob Second Lock Press Double Honk
BCM central config
Change "Audible Mislock Feedback" to "With Audible Mislock feedback"

ST1 to ST2/3 Xenon Headlight swap coding to remove headlight fault WITHOUT parts or wiring installation
A soft DTC may still be present after but you no longer get the Yellow Headlight Fault in the Cluster and the headlights function properly just no leveling or cornering functions.
BCM central config
Change "Headlights, type" to "GDL advanced front lighting system with static bending, without leveling (XENON - NAS)"

And this one below is not new but I assume you only change this if you swap out the diff for an LSD. You DO NOT want to change this with stock differential.

Disables e-diff pull drift compensation
PSCM
disable "pull drift compensation"

Also, there are many chimes I disabled in the IPC regarding ignition off and on, belt minders and doors.

Thats all the new ones I have for now. It would greatly help if someone fully decoded every module so we know what each digit changes. We may have exact modules from the F250 that are coded exactly the same. I am not sure. Hope these changes help others out there.

not sure what im missing but im not a computers guy. i download the file it asks me to on https://www.motorcraftservice.com/diagnostic/Support?channelId=50&categoryId=288 but then its named DSFM_downloadfile.asp. i drop it into the file it says it wants it in and forscan still wont allow me into the body control module MAIN. i just get the prompt to download file again and again.

also is it necessary to unmarry acessport before doing any of this?

Edit: got it now. I seen a previous post here about using Microsoft edge. Didn't really get what he meant, I was looking through a lot of information as I was unlocking some stuff on the wife's bronco sport before i got to the ST. I got it all to work this morning though.

MUST use Microsoft edge if on windows. To download as zip file then unzip and drag to folder. Chrome will NOT work.

This is mostly a US based site, and we only got the Mk3 here. You're looking for FocusSToc.com.

Quick update to this thread:

When changing seats from different trims, thus far as long as it's from the same model year you can reprogram the RCM AsBuilt to match the given trim you're trying to copy.

Got the asbuilt from a buddy's 15 ST3 and it knocked out the U3000:4 code without swapping seat bladders and loaded it to the RCM. The car is happy with the seats, and my airbags will deploy without having to rip the seat apart.

EDIT this is wrong, womp womp, sorry.

Hey guys, just wanted to put something out there for my fellow peasants (ST1 owners). I acquired a set of ST3 headlights for free.99 and installed them cause I wanna try and get the cornering lights to work. I didn’t feel like wiring them just yet so I just plugged them in and found no code. Changed the headlight from 18 (incorrect/unconfigured) to 09 (bi-xenon) and got an immediate code. Changed in back and not CEL or DTC, not even soft. So I guess no need to swap settings at this point in time 🤷‍♂️

Go forward and do what you will with this info
