I guess I've never thought of just doing that and seeing what happens ;)
Ill drive her that way home tonight and see if anything comes up.

Maybe the ECU and BCM don't even have communication checks to it ;)
You can most definitely pull it. This is from a fairly old thread from 2012. Ive been wanting to do this but i only have one Android device and I dont think my Note 4 will fit. Torque Pro Ford Focus Mk3 Android ST Boost pod:

Thank you! I got it working tonight with the USB cable because my neighborhood has a lot of Wireless signals running around it.

I bought the recommended USB cable and bluetooth (non MX version) adapter from this thread
@jdub1981, version 0.8.4 is released as a few days ago. I tried to use the As-Build Editor but it wouldn't download anything from my VIN nor would it load my XML file from my BCM read. So I read the file with Foccus, saved the original one, made my tweaks to Global Windows & Shift Indicator and then saved that file. Reloaded my changed file and uploaded it back to my BCM.

Thanks for the headsup, can you post the changelog?

Anyone know what the Towbar setting does?

You will need an external harness in order to make that work if it works at all.
It probably needs that plug most trucks have that allows you to run external brake lights, trailer brakes and turn signals.

That is setting #20 Trailer Module. This might be something different.

So I may have missed it. Can you turn on the auto fog lamp on with headlights and disable the double honk when you leave your car running with this?

Sent from another galaxy.
Nope neither, but i have news on another hot piece of action. A member emailed me and said was able to activate navigation on a non nav model. He used a special J2534 reader and custom software not unlike Focccus. However this is a company that sells the module for $400+ and gives free updated software. The software is a cross between Forscan, IDS and Focccus.

I was already planning on buying that particular cable so when i do get it ill let you guys know if its legit.

Edit: FoCoM is the name of the program. Its essentially a modified Elm327 that functions in much the same way as a legit J2534 device like the Drewtech Mongoose Pro Ford. But in this case it will only work using the FoCoM propietary software.

Interesting. My BIL has a focom cable that came with his used Edge. It appears the software is downloadable with the serial # of the cable. I'll borrow it and see what it can do. Any idea how the nav was enabled?

@jad3675 I have no idea how that software works. I think it is very similar to a VAGCOM but once again I cant answer on things I don't know about. Good Luck! Please report back!

Btw. I just read they added something called a VIN configuration option which must be how nav gets enabled.

Hey guys,

I just wanted to give a little update on my end. I finally got my ELM 327 interface in the mail after some bad weather. The first thing I wanted to even try was the Global Open/Close windows. Here's my experience:

  • 1)I've installed Windows 8 x64 on my MacBook Air using Bootcamp.
  • 2)Went out to the FoST, plugged my EML into both the Mac and the FoST, started the FoST.
  • 3)It took about 5-10 minutes for Windows to find the necessary drivers and install them to be able to read the ELM.
  • 4)Once the Mac could read the ELM I fired up FoCCCus (version 0.8.3) and opened in default settings (auto and max speed both checked).
  • 5)I selected "Read from BCM". This whole process took about 10 seconds. It was definitely scary at first with everything flashing and blinking at you.
  • 6)About a minute or two after reading the BCM the FoST stalled, I did not turn the engine back on until I was completely done.
  • 7)I went down to option #184 for the "Global Open/Close" and selected the option for doors AND sunroof.
  • 8)I selected "Write to BCM" and again this whole process took about 10 seconds. Everything again flashed and blinked and then went back to normal.
  • 9)I turned off the FoST and unplugged the ELM.
  • 10)I'm now enjoying my Global Open/Close widows. The sunroof will not work like it did in my Fusion but I'm sure with time that will be figured out.

Anyways, I just wanted to do a little write up for people who might be on the fence about trying this out. It's really straightforward with all the documentation that everyone has worked so hard to create. I'll definitely be spending more time trying to learn and understand this program, there are a lot of possibilities! I've linked the ELM I bought of Amazon below:

I don't think the sunroof can be figured out. I'm pretty sure its not on any bus. It's just locally controlled and only powered via KL15.

^^^ This. The sunroof is hardwired to ignition.

You could potentially wire some control yourself, and I probably will since I want it to at least have retained-accessory.

What do you mean by retained-accessory?

Lots of people are missing out on setting up your fog lights to be on with your high beams. This can be done in foCCus as well.

I've read about this as well but I'm not sure if I really need my fogs on w/ my high beams. I don't drive anywhere crazy at night.
