So luckily I bought a spare rim. I took my new wheels to Michigan on vacation because they had the newest tires and I wanted to be safe. But then the MI pot holes funk my butt wide open.

In the scenario where I have to drive from NM to MI in January during an arctic blast with either a) bald tires or b) summer tires, the clear choice is c) fly or d) rent a car.

driving my own car 500$ round trip in gas.
flying 1000$-1100$ for 2 people + (rental car 18$/day x 30days = 540$) = 1600$ roughly.
I saved 1100$ by driving and I can almost buy another set of 4 rims for that cost. come on man use some math.
