My 2013's A/C has started crapping out on me. Specifically at idle. Coolant temps are going above 210+ at times with the A/C on. Engine starts to overheat until I turn the A/C off. If I start going faster, it will start to cool down. I can hear the A/C compressor kicking in after I start moving from idle.

I checked error codes on my Cobb AP and I get Error Code P0480 - Fan 1 control circuit.

I saw only 1 or 2 other threads on here and it didn't explain any solutions or answers for me.

Has anyone else experienced this code and if so, what caused it/how did you fix it?

I'm guessing something is wrong with my coolant fans/radiator?

How can I diagnose this further to get to the root of the problem?

Thanks for your help! It sucks not having proper A/C in Southwest Florida
Sounds like either the fan motor, the fan motor controller or the fan relay has gone bad. Start by checking Fuse #32 in the battery junction box.

Update! It turned out to be the fan control module. Purchased a used one off a 2016 focus on eBay with the same part number. Swapping it out was a breeze, just had to disconnect battery, remove air filter box and then you’ll have enough space to remove the module from the fan. Turned car on and fan started right away! Makes me a little sad - Bosch is my former employer! LOL. Since it says "Made in France" that controller likely comes from their plant in Mondeville.
