Performance wise, it seems to me that the COBB map is a little conservative (from what I understand as of now). It's sure safe, but very conservative as it's slowly adding timing. In a quarter mile run, I'd rather see -1 on each cylinder than +1> +1.5> +2> +2.5 >+3.5. You are not making full power untill the end of the run.

Randy always told me that he was pulling more timing than needed for added safety.

And Silver_Shooter, why do you say he is having a boost leak? I don't understand how a boost leak would mean higher CAT temp.

Why is the WGDC in the OTS COBB stuck at 100% in higher rpm? 100% means completly closed right? So full boost? These ECU are a nightmare, I'm used to GM's.

OTS hits 100% WGDC around 5600 rpm. Mine is tuned to hit 100% at 4600.
It's not that the wg is closed, it's that the EBC is venting all pressure away from the WG in an attempt to raise boost. However, the small turbo/light WG can't provide it. At a certain rpm, it doesn't matter if you're at 70% or 100% DC, boost is the same.

You can tune boost for low end and mid-range, but you have to focus in spark tuning up top to make power.

As for your other question, Alex and I have discussed this a little. It's been shown to be that way on several cars. With so many factors, multipliers, and compensations being applied, it's hard to find the answer.

Many ways to skin a donkey.

What "drive ability" complaints do you have with the OTS maps? Other then the BOV pulse and the lack of Randy's retardedly fast spool/throttle ramp. I actually prefer the OTS over Randy's tune.. ( bov pulse is easy to fix with ATR )

Just curious why you say the drive ability sucks..

Another question. Is the ATR safe? Can you go wrong to the point that you damage the car without knowing it?

Seriously, you need to read and understand it's operation, but if you know what you're changing and why, make small adjustments, and review logs, it's not that bad. And it's catching on enough that there are more people to pitch in and offer guidance.
I suggest reading the ATR tuning guide several hundred times. It takes a bit for it to click, but once you understand, things get pretty easy.

Yesterday, I followed the links you PM'ed me and started reading. Do I need to read the V1.02 and V2.02 books?

So if I understand correctly, v1.02 is for pro-tuner while v2.02 is for people like you and me. And Him...
