Boomba Racing Throttle Body - Feeler Thread

We were going through R&D of some products and the talk of a throttle body came up. We've made throttle bodies in the past for many cars such as WRX, STi, SRT-4, and Evos; all of which having measurable gains. These throttle bodies are not cheap to produce and do come with a price tag, usually in the $400-450 ballpark.

We wanted to ask you guys what interest do you have in an aftermarket throttle body for your Focus ST which would utilize a larger bore? We are aware of companies that offer a re-bore of the stock unit so we are wondering with that out there, is there even interest for a aftermarket unit.

Let us know your thoughts and opinions and what it would take for you to buy one.

Below are the gains from two of our Subaru throttle bodies:

:whs: I don't see it doing much for the stock turbo. But I'd love to see a dyno from some bigger turbos. It'd have to prove itself to be beneficial to drop that much money on one.

I would want something with measurable gains, and only get better when I go BT. Color choice must include blue!!! Maybe give an option for a spacer on the throttle body or just go ahead and include it into the housing. Cant think of anything else right now....but it would be a really nice thing from y'all!!!

From my understanding throttle bodies don't have alot to do with power but more with throttle response. So stock turbo or not if there are HP gains it will most likely be minimal even with a larger turbo. I had a larger throttle body on my old focus with and without my turbo kit I ran. Power was right around the same as those who had the stock unit. Throttle response was much better though.

Oh, I thought more power would be the primary reason. If it's just responsiveness I'm satisfied with the responsiveness right now. I can use that money towards suspension.

How does this differ from the throttle response setting available to us SCT users? If it's primary goal is simply responsiveness, I think we've already achieved that.

I'm not trying to bash the product, I had a similar set-up on my SRT-4 swap but DSP didn't have much for throttle response hence changing out TB's.

We post threads like this for input, and we like to hear what people have to say.

It is true that the stock turbo can only do so much as it is nearly maxed out from the factory. Adding a larger TB like this would not only increase responsiveness, but it would also add horsepower and torque. How much? We're not sure what's possible with this yet.

Im surprised that this hasent been done by someone already to be honest.

I think it would be a great addition especially considering all the big turbo builds coming up.

In for data.
