I've tried white vinegar, lemon juice, even scrubbing with one of those white eraser pads. I have some stubborn spots that will not seem to come off, and then windshield looks so ugly especially when light is shining on it. What else can I try?

Clay bar, and some of those skills Mr. Miyagi taught us back in 1984.

From what I understand superfine steelwool. Try it in a small area and see whats up.

Very fine steelwool and some glass cleaner should take care of it. Just NEVER use it on a mirror! Normal glass and you are fine. We used it all the time when I worked at a Toyota dealer in the detail area. Works great on the inside of the windshield too (no tint).
