Always go to the dealer first and let them work for you. Get to know one of the service writers at a dealership and establish a trusted relationship. When my 13 was under warranty, they took good care of my problems and proactively took care of most TSB I brought up even if it did not manifest symptoms. Typically the dealership you bought the car at is where you should try to build that relationship. Giving the dealership good feedback to JD Power will give you good leverage in return. These ratings are critical to the dealership on multiple business fronts. Off warranty now and do everything myself as with all my cars and have a trusted shop handle anything out of my scope.
