Curious to know if in Southern California we have a Focus ST tuner with some experience in tuning obvi who's willing to answer some questions I personally have about tunes, e30, and some upgrades. Anything helps with some info

& for the owners, we should have like a bi-weekly gathering just so most of us get to know some ST owners, talk cars and all that good stuff. Really wanting to meet other ST peeps. Haha

The only time I'm out that direction is to run the car at Fontana.

As for local tuners, I am going to assume you have a Cobb AP. In that case there a few people I can recommend that don't have specific Ford Focus ST experience but know the Cobb software inside and out.

Church Automotive is who I would recommend. Otherwise Mountune (Randy) and Cobb SoCal (privately owned now) have extensive Focus ST experience.

Mods -

Bolt-On parts have poor ROI, even if you buy parts used it won't be that fast, especially on pump gas.

Before suggesting anything however I have to know if your overtly concerned about warranties or being caught by CHP for speeding and then being given a fix-it-ticket.

If the answer is yes, then go the bolt-on route but leave your stock down pipe in-place.

If the answer is no, then I need to know your budget, goals and fast you wanna go.

I'm not too worried about CHP but I am however watching over my warranty. Got the car in September of last year and later this year looking to trade it in for an RS, so mod wise I would want to go the rout that I can add or take off within hours. Like tunes, E30 tune is what I'm looking into next along with downpipe and exhaust

If you want to trade it in on an RS just keep the tune and don't brother wasting money on parts that won't carry over.

I run mid 13's on slicks, tune only, full interior. I ran [email protected] at Fontana the same way and the car was driven straight to the track with no cooling period but for the 30 mins it took to get tech'ed and put the slicks on, it's faster than that now.

As I said there isn't much point in going beyond that if you're going to trade-it-in. Bolt-on parts have poor ROI, that means you will have poor resale value as well. A quality catted DP cost $600. You won't be able to sell it used for more than $300. Trust me, people have tried; Same with any cat-back you buy.

Just focus (no pun) on buying the RS. It will be faster (12.9-13.1 tune only) but cost more to operate, modify and have higher insurance.

Oh wow, not so good of news then. It would be nice to get to know some more ST owners and get out and go on drives, things like that.

Myself, Stealth and few others go to Street Legal Drags at Fontana. Majority of Southern Cali peeps belong to this Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/Cali.ST/

It's a decent group, lots of immature sh*t talking, things for sell because people are moving on, etc. But there are a few there that get together in your neck of the woods. PM Stealth to get an invite.
