What are your thoughts? 🤔

So while detailing my car over the weekend I noticed something strange on my rear driver wheel next to a spike. I figured it was dirt and went to remove it with my finger. Here it seems the paint or coating was bubbling up and coming off. I checked the rest of the spokes and it was the same scenario. It was only on my rear driver wheel. I contacted Fitment industries about it as this is where I purchased the set from. After reviewing the first picture they asked me to send a picture of the entire wheel and the brush I’ve used to clean them with. I did so, as well as, sending a video of all the spokes. They reviewed it and blamed it on the brush I use. I have only used the brush for the barrels or to clean between the barrel and brembos. What are your thoughts on the picture/videos here? The first is an actual picture the next 3 are screen shots from the video I sent them since I couldn’t load a video here.

The best part is that is how I responded. Told them I ONLY use the brush on the barrels. Never use the brush on the face. I use microfiber on the face and spokes. They however offered me a discount on purchasing a new wheel. Mind you I already bought a new wheel for the passenger side. The downside of buying deco directional wheels is you have 6 wheels.. two as a spare one for either side.

To me, the way it's blistering tells me the coating wasn't applied well or the rim wasn't prepped right (maybe they did a quick wipe down and oil was left in those corners).

I hear ya about the wheel situation. I bought a cheap set of staggered wheels for my BMW. Since it's common for aftermarket wheels to become discontinued, I went and purchased a 2nd set of them once they came back in stock. Well, turns out the offset on the rear rims was permanently changed 5mm on the new run of the wheels, so if I crack or bend one rear, I have to switch them both out so the offset is the same left to right. It's stupid.

Yup that’s what I thought as well. It came off with my finger… no coating should do that when it’s subjected to road hazards let alone a flimsy brush. My next step is to return my suspension that hasn’t shipped yet. That’s money to use for another company that will stand behind their products.
