Long story short:

My car died at a stoplight. I could restart it but it idled like crap until it decided to smooth out.

It seems like there's a misfire randomly occurring at idle and while cruising. When I stopped, I could smell that nice hot converter smell.

No CEL was triggered.

Only major mod to the car that could affect that is a tune.

I have been getting the battery saver message on the MFT screen. The battery is less than two years old. I know these cars do weird stuff when the battery dies as well. Hoping it's that simple.

Any suggestions as to where to start? No idea if the wiring TSB has been done.

Thanks.

Would it be possible for the car to run if the battery is low, but not have enough charge and misfire? I had something similar before in a different vehicle. The alternator wasn't keeping up with the demand.

I had exactly the same in my previous vehicle with a bad alternator. Id start with a battery test.

By the way, I also saw.the MFT battery saver screen for the first time on Monday.
