You should be getting all your money back, it did not last long enough to even finish tuning for it.

Interesting thread, been following it a while since I'm slightly interested in a hybrid but not sure if I need to upgrade to forged rods and pistons.
Anyway, it's interesting to see how different the community between EU and US are. It seems like the hybrid solution is alot more popular here in EU where I live than in the US. US seems to like the big turbo upgrade more instead. Though I've never heard this much problem with a hybrid before so that sucks..

The stock internals can handle most turbo upgrades, never heard of any bottom end breakage so far.

Pumaspeed in UK recommends a set of forged pistons since the stock ones are very weak. But they are also the only company I've seen who's recommending forged pistons.

I can agree that thier customer service isnt the greatest outside UK but thier knowledge is one thing u cant argue about. Besides, ive talked to popular tuners who does the same, short answers..

they can have the knowledge, but for the rest it to me is a worthless company.
Sorry for this long post that is off topic, but want to share my story.

Ordered the R-Sport stage 3 gen 2 intercooler in black for my Stealth Grey and payed at the same time. No communication, no comfirmation, nothing. After a week contacted them, the intercooler is ready to be shipped to the painter, when it comes back and is ready to be shipped, we will let you know. 2 weeks go by without message, contacted them again. Busy with vacation and short on staff so we were not able to contact you, the intercooler has just come back this morning and we are preparing to ship it to you. Little bit longer then expected but ok.
Week later the intercooler arrives, happy it is finally there, but less happy with the packing. Two of the mounting brackets went throught the side of the shipping box and have a little paint damage. Well sh*t happens on shipping and the brackets are intact and straight. Some of the welds on the intercooler look like they are made by a blind guy, but it is out of sight so ok. Put the intercooler aside, waiting for break in the weather to install.
Just over week later I have a day of and the weather is good, time for install. Bumper of, old intercooler of, try to line up the new intercooler, cut my hands open 3 times on sharp edges on the intercooler, more lining up -> does not go into position all the way. 1 of the mounting brackets is welded on the intercooler in the wrong position, 1 inch in wrong direction . DIY made the bracket work, since sending it back will take more time+money+effort. Come to fitting the bumper and more trouble, bumper can not be fitted because 1 of the scoops is to long. Grinded it down to finish the install since it was getting dark already. Simple plug-play morning install took all day and was far from plug and play.
Contacted Pumaspeed again about what I experienced during install, that it is far from what I expected from a big well known brand and am wondering what can be done to compensate. We at pumaspeed do not do extensive quality control and since the order was some weeks ago, no compensation was possible. Only thing possible is offer a discount on the next purchase.
Looked at my wishlist for the Focus and the products offered by Pumaspeed and decided that I would like to buy a set of wheel spacers. Contacted on what to do to make the discount active for my order. No reaction. Another attempt to contact -> we can not offer a discount on that product, but we at Pumaspeed have new wheel spacers from our own production and can offer a discount on them. Replied I will be ok with changing the spacers to there own brand, 12mm Pumaspeed spacers with black wheel nuts. No reply again. Another attempt to contact only was answered with a quote and payment request.
Payed and received the spacers 2 weeks later. The shipping package was a little better then last time, but was almost falling apart (looks like a re-used box). Boxes inside were intact and look nice. Opened the packages and guess what..... silver wheel nuts #facepalm . Contacted again and the reaction I got: can send you black wheelnuts, you just have to pay the full retail price for them.
I have decided never to buy a product from Pumaspeed again and will not recommend anyone to buy anything from Pumaspeed.

Quick summary on Pumaspeed: Bad shipping packing, bad customer service (not responsive), no improvement on earlier mistakes, no quality control on products, no control on what is send out, bad weldings, sharp edges

Sucks... But this thread isnt about pumaspeed. I think we should stay on topic here.

you can likely do a charge-back if you used a credit card. product is straight up defective and he's not giving you a refund.
