Chevron is the worst for me, But I they have ethanol so i go there for my E-30 tune. Other wise I try get 76 then shell. Torco is fuel additive. You can order online, or most off road /motorcycle shops have it or can get it. Where in Cali are you, Im in I.E.

Similar to Stealth, I fill up at Chevron, full E85. I mix 1 gallon of E85 to 5 gallons of 91 to equate 93. Only place that has it near me. I've only used chevron, so I am biased.

I use 76 mostly and my OAR is usually pinned at -1. I put chevron in the other day as a suggestion to try it out and my OaR dropped to -.95.

Who knows, Cali gas is so hit or miss. When I finish my tune I'll probably be adding a gallon of ethanol in when I fill up just for safety's sake after going big turbo.

I live PT in SoCal & I've never asked - is there no such thing as 93 out here? My ST is in MO and I have a station w/ 93 about 3 miles away that I use all the time & I'd love to get a 93 tune for my Mustang...

It really depends on what area in California you live in. I take my tuners advice when it comes to gasoline. Randy from Mountune said to stick with Arco. He lives in the same area as I do. I've also had good results with 76. I ran e30 in my Fiesta ST. Now that I have a Focus ST, I'm waiting for the miles to build up before I get an email tune. I have 1220 miles on my engine and I just installed a Cobb stage 1 tune. I'm going to install my ethanol percentage gauge as soon as I figure out the plumbing requirements.

I've always tried to stick to Chevron or 76, however recently I've noticed that my car seems to like 76 more.

I have water injection and I am currently working on my E30 tune which will eventually give way to water injection.

I get E85 from Propel Fuels in Brentwood and Sylmar

91 octane is the least of my concerns, other than the stock base tune, I don't have anything special for it.

A cheap way to add some pep to the stock tune is to run a Toroco or octane booster with high levels of MMT in it.

That would be -

NOS Brand Race Formula usually found at Wal-Mart or Autozone

Royal Purple Octane Boost which works well as I used some recently when I suspected my WMI nozzle was too small.

That said a $350 Snow Performance Stage 1 system will solve all octane related issues period. I bought Banks Performance Additive for $35 for four gallons in a box (only way it's available).

Snow's own 50/50 rumor has it that is contains Nitro-methane; I haven't checked the MSDS sheet to confirm but it's very popular; price is the same.

I do put 91 in the tank when cruising around and occasionally 87 octane which I have a tune for it for max MPG.

At the track thus far it's only been E30 or WMI -

[email protected] on WMI

[email protected] with E30+ tune without a cool down.

The E30 tune is potentially quicker, I was suppose to find out this weekend, but I stripped lug nut and couldn't mount my slicks. I won't let that stop me, I'm headed to the best track in California and my PB should tumble....

Huh? Randy told me Arco is about the worst you can get with 76 being the best.

I don't know, as I said I don't really care what the quality of 91 octane is, IMHO it's all bad; the gulf between 91 and 93 is massive.

There might be a 1-3% variance between all the fuels in terms of fuel economy or power. I added a bottle of Lucas to my SRT-4 every time I went to the track just to make sure, it was fine never knocked.

I am intrigued by Sunoco E15 which is the fuel NASCAR uses and is 96 octane. I found Sonoma Raceway has it at the pump for $7.99 a gallon. That should give a nice boost in timing on the stock tune or if you have access only OTS tunes at this point, you could easily run the 93 octane tune which is quite more aggressive than any 91 tune.
