I just weighed my 2012 GT Mustang at the road course this weekend. I run it in TT but it is a full interior car with AC and stereo still in place. It weighed 3704 with me in it and a 1/4 tank of gas. Not to far off the weight of these ST's. I really expected the ST to be lighter than it is considering the GT has twice the motor and is a bigger car.
I'm going to do some research but I have a question about 1/4 mile times. I want my ST to run mid 12s in the 1/4, currently I have a FSWerks tune, FRPP intake, Steeda Intercooler, and the E-focus mount. What all is needed to get to that point? I know the car is more of a curvy road vehicle...
The mod list is in the description, but the majority of it have nothing to do with making the car faster.
The stuff you need to know -
Spec 3+ Clutch and Flywheel
CPe Big Intercooler
Catless downpipe (at that power level a cat doesn't hurt output at all)
So looking for those that have been doing clutch drops and what were any of the resultant carnage. My past with drag racing was RWD V8s and I had confidence in the driveline components to not be concerned on what was going to blow. I'd like to take some trips back to the drag strip with my ST...
Time for a confession. I've never actually launched or practiced launching my car, but now I'm hoping to change that with a few nights at a drag strip near by. My only thing is that I'm confused as to how to launch the car properly to get a good time. Now before I get flamed, I've done a search...
2 car head start before I delivered the sauce.
btw it was a weird event, it was supposed to be 40 rolls, they changed it to 20 rolls last minute and started making people do burn outs with out proper instructions.
