Sorry everyone that I have been off the forums for awhile. I was away from work and off-line for awhile due to a death in the family. I will be returning to work tomorrow and after I get caught up on everything, I will respond to all of your questions and quote requests.

Thank you for your understanding.

Well i installed the Yakima today. Went on easy as can be. Now i will monitor the rack for a day or so to make sure it holds tight.

So far with the yakima it seems ok. I noticed a rear clip slide out a little.

Not happy to read this. My Q5/Q83's will be here in a couple days. The whole rack systems for this car sucks BIG TIME compared to the way they attached to my Jetta. That was about as perfect as it could possibly be. I'm going to be pissed if the Yakima system won't work on my ST. Biking is huge to me and not being able to carry my bike(s) on my new car is going to be a huge let down and I just can't afford a whole new system right now. I have a hitch rack for my g/f's Xterra but if I use that, it means she gets my ST to drive and I gotta say that's not an idea I'm thrilled with. Guess we'll see how it works out.

Develand, what length are your Q-Bars? Mine are 45" I think which from what I see above will be way too short. I have a cheap solution but I was just wondering what yours were.

58. And yeah, yours will be very tight. I think the measurements are 42.5" for one of them. So far it seems to be staying. Havent thrown a bike up there yet though.

My Q-Clips will be here tomorrow. I'm hoping like hell it works. I don't have $400-500 to shell out on a new rack. Especially if I want to get a new exhaust of the ST anytime soon.

On another note, anyone using anything protective under the feet and clips of the racks? I was thinking about using some clear 3M film or something to help prevent hurting the paint. Even though I have the rubber feet under the Q-Towers, they still wore the paint some on my Jetta and that was with almost zero movement. The way the towers attach to the Jetta, it was SOLID. So with the ST not being so sturdy, I'm afraid of some paint wear.

Mine are solid on the ST. Sp far. I watch the clips for movement though. I am currently trying to sell the Yakima though just for piece of mind.

Yeah, guess I'll find out tomorrow how it works. Clips will be here sometime tomorrow so I'll install the rack and see. Also, I'm super excited because my Unleashed tuner is coming tomorrow as well. I hope the clips come first because I have a feeling once the tuner arrives, I'll forget all about the rack.

Clips are in and the rack is on the roof. Seems sturdy enough, time will tell. Certainly was a b!tch getting on there though. I wish all cars were like the newer VW's and had studs that the clips attached to for a rock solid mounting point with no chance of sliding.

Great thread and input, everyone. Got lots of options, it would appear, but as a Thule owner, I'm glad to see how great everything seems to work.

Anyone throw their roof boxes on? I've got an Atlantis 1600...we'll see if she'll mount up!

So far yakima is strong and hasnt moved. No bike yet though. Been too damn hot lol.

I still want a Thule rack though.

Awesome. I'm taking my bike out tomorrow.

It didnt move. Monday i may take the gf out so i will pit two on there.

80 miles round trip with some interstate and 80 mph driving...everything held tight. I'm happy so far I don't have to hemorrhage $500 for another bike rack system.
