Drove it to the in-laws' house.

390437

I immediately went to my first car meet, filled with lots of STs. I parked away from everyone since I was the new guy.

390438

One of them gave me this.

Day 4: Green Filter.
390439

Day 4: Tinted windows.
390440

Day 5: Sound symposer delete
390441

Day 13: Thermal R&D catback exhaust.
390442

It stayed this way all the way until March 2020.

2020: Lockdown mods

Bored, painted calipers.
390443

My favorite BOV sound: the NGR Type S
390444

I plumbed this pipe into the hot side, routed it to the sound symposer delete.
390446

Dipped the premiums using Gunmetal and glossifier.
390445

Scored a used FMIC locally. Dogs approve.
390447

I am not a free advertising board. Levels logo deleted, FMIC installed.
390449

Innovative 75A RMM
390450

Hella Supertones and 3D-printed snorkel.
390451

Picked up a used Mountune catted DP and adapter from Thermal to make my exhaust a true 3".
390452

Local guy traded his RS wing for my ST wing.

Vibrant Ultra Quiet, because peace & quiet is underrated. It took 3 tries for amazon to send me one that wasn't bent.
390454

New hotside charge pipe from 3P Performance.
390455

RS OEM shifter/before after, as well as JBR short shift arm and all the solid metal bushings.
390456

Flowmaster Intake. I liked the airbox design, and the fact that the pipe was plastic (less heat soak).
390457

AP and Sync 3.4
390458

Charge pipe installed.
390459

Knob from Shift Solutions.
390460

390461

Pulled the intake mani to do Radium PCV baffle plate, both Damond catch cans, and tried to clean the valves using chemicals and a shop vac.
390462

How my valves looked at 38k (before cleaning).

New turbo arrives: G25-550 0.72 AR
390467

390468

This plug can be removed and used as a boost source. No drilling of charge pipes required.
390469

390470

Blanket to keep temps down under the hood, possibly increase spool.
390471

Homemade wastegate tester. TiAL springs are very inaccurate these days.
390472

During the turbo install, I didn't like how the coolant return was being pinched by a protrusion on the block.
390474

I also stupidly kept the metal gasket from the OEM turbo on. Don't do this!
390475

Turbo came off and went back on correctly. Coolant return line routed upwards. Dump pipe connected!

What a mess!
390477

Turbo install was done alone on jackstands over a weekend. I took my time and lots of breaks. About 12 hours on Saturday, 10 on Sunday. Intake either sits too close to the passenger side, and doesn't meet the filter section, or sits too high and touches the cowl if using the supplied extender.
390478

Wastegate hiding, with insulated vacuum line.
390479

All my favorite sounds come from here: Type S BOV and EWG Dump! The silicone coupler supplied by 3P was just barely long enough. With the big turbo in, it was a stretch. I cut some 2.5" coupler and replaced it here.
390480

Base map from Alan @EdgeAutosport.com on wastegate pressure. Tial's 14.5 psi springs end up hitting 21-22 PSI.

You going to run Auxiliary fuel? My tune tops out at just under 26 psi on 93 stock fuel. I know about how long the turbo takes to install in stands. I had my car up Friday night ready to go. Saturday in August started at 5am and quit at 7pm. To breaks at all. Back to it Sunday at 9am and finished after 12pm. I did do the waste gate and cold side charge pipe with BOV at the same time though. Also the waste gate and dump tube of course.

As of now, I don't plan to install aux fuel. I may do WMI later but only for the cooling/cleaning. If I do upgrade the fuel, I'd want to go with the HPFP and maybe even injectors.

That's a nice flat boost curve! Doesn't it feel foreign to have power until redline? Lol

My tuning is now done. Alan Jackson at Edgeautosport did my e-tunes for both 93 pump and E30. It rained several days since I started tuning, but he was still able to get my tunes done within 2 weeks. The car runs GREAT. When not in boost, it feels just as smooth and mild as stock. When the boost comes in, it pulls hard.

I asked for a safe and reliable tune, since this is my daily. Numbers look great.

Check out my datalogs.
