Does anybody know the difference between the 5.10 to 5.11 update on the Sync 1? I just recently went to the Ford website and there is an update for it. It says to take it to dealer but I found the file online to upload myself. Just wondering if it’s worth it.

It's always worth it, even if no new features are added IMO. Bugs are nasty things, and if bugs are fixed I'd always update over not updating.

Ironically I've been trying to update my SYNC (I guess it's a version 1? 2016 ST not premium). Anyways, it's the most difficult and frustrating thing I've ever done on a vehicle and I've been wrenching and in the collision industry for 40+years. What a pain in the ass. Trying to go from V 5.9 to 5.11 (which seems ass backwards to me based on the decimal system), but anyways... The Ford instructions don't work and there's no "Park" on a manual trans, (instructions tell you to let it run in Park for at least 30-45 minutes). I've tried letting it sit in neutral running for over an hour, I've tried driving it several times for an hour... Nada. Zip. No update. It simply sits there with "Installation in Progress..." On the display. I thought it might be the USB stick, so I read up on that and apparently it must be formatted to Fat 32 on a MBR partition, which I double checked and did the whole darn format making sure it was MBR and unzipping the files and copying them over as instructed. All of this because I'm trying to get my Pixel 9 Pro XL to work on it. I had an Apple iPhone 15 which worked fine, but the Pixel turned hands free to hands on. It's backwards and I'm fairly certain although the phone works through the radio and mic, voice commands to the phone seem not to.
