All,

Have come across the above at my local Ford / Subaru parts dealer.

It's a foaming intake cleaner which is sprayed into the intake to clean the carbon buildup off valves etc.

Have read varying things (good and bad) about Seafoam but if Subaru are using this product as part of their routine maintenance schedule on turbocharged WRX's and the like surely it's ok to use on our cars?

Any reason why I shouldn't try it?

I am not a machinic by any means, and have never used it myself. I do have a ecoboost in my f-150 and on those forums people feel VERY strongly against using this stuff in our engines. They pretty much say it will trash it. Again, I have never used it and don't know, but I'd deff do some research first like you obviously are.

Yes have read that, also read that our valves have teflon which this stuff strips off (!?), and have also read that the additional heat from the spray can ruin turbo seals...
