We had a couple of new air boxes that were going to be scrapped that I saved. Might have to try this myself.

When a VelossaTech Bigmouth is just too mainstream! lol

Kudo's on trying something new. turned out pretty good for a DIY project
Yes this was $36, while VT BM are $150+
This is also a addition to having the stock inlets

I opened this expecting to see some hack job but this isn't that bad!
.... Thanks! no hacking the only mod was a single 3" hole and done right with a hole saw

Give it a shot and post up results. I am sure this can be done 10 different ways

Interesting... I used to work at Pep Boys and have the Spectre Mock Up kit.

I was talking to a former Fiesta ST owner that had a large intake pointing out of his driver's side headlight housing.

He was self tuning and the car picked up 2 mph in the 1/4 mile. He was running [email protected] on street tires, no seats, self-tuned, down pipe and aforementioned intake.

There was some testing on Honda-Tech about a similar ram air system and it picked up 14 hp when tuned for it

Question -

Don't the stock AGS get in the way? I see that you have removed yours for the upgraded inter-cooler.

Nice work with some basic off the shelf parts. I'd be interested to see before and after data via a log or two.

Thank guys, I have been thinking this up for a while and just finally ran into the right product to get the job done, I was thinking of other ways of doing it but nothing was "proper" or as "clean" as this. Not for everyone but for people that don't want to spend a ton of money and to a fun project that helps bring fresh cool air this is a good mod.

I 100% don't agree with anyone that removes their air box lid (aka hot air intake), this was my solution to get a few guy in my group to put the lid back on and supply air another better way.

I took it as a complement ;)

I have a Levels FMIC and yes I would assume the factory mess of plastic behind the front bumper would get it the way of this mod but cant say for sure

If there is a provision made for the factory inlet pipe, is there a gap big enough for your 2nd hose to fit through? Just looking at the car from the outside I can see the AGS sort of getting in the way but maybe not.

I was just wondering since you've had the car apart and I haven't.

I am pretty positive it gets in the way but not 100%. I removed all the plastic behind the bumper so I have a lot of room to play. Not even saying this is the only route. could go to the fender or lower pan?

Right, I was just wondering about the area you used.

When I take the car apart a bit more, I will look into it.

Any worries with driving through heavy rain with this set up?
