I have a '15 Focus ST1 and I'm considering swapping to the '15 ST3 head unit. What I'm trying to figure out what's going to work and what's not. Not interested in doing any rewiring so I wanna to check if it's worth it. I've got the ST3 (heated) seats so hopefully that'll "plug and play" so I don't need to install the switch by itself. A/C controlls? Stereo? Bluetooth? I've read the navigation won't work unless it's registered to my VIN so wondering if that's true too.

Better off going aftermarket. St3 system has the factory amp that controls alot of the sound stuff.

You'd be better off just trading cars.. LOL
There are a lot of things connected to he MFT sys, and they cannot be simply swapped. For one thing, the Dash is completely different. Then the Duel AC controls.. Nav..etc.,
But the seats should be plug and play.

Some sedans have effectively gone from ST1 to ST3 radios as part of their conversions, and it takes the whole body harness and more as far as I know. It's sadly a very involved swap.

Well scratch that idea...COMPLETELY lol. Thanks for your advise guys. Not really worried about having the ST1 setup but it would've been cool to get the ST3 working. Gonna wire up the seats to an external switch and call it a day.

If your gonna get that in depth, there is an awesome write up with a guy installing a nexus 7 in his dash. Something I became very interested in but I am unsure if it will work with my 2016 model.
