Thanks again to everyone that is posting pics. Sorry for the delay as I was out of town the last week, but lets get this started.
This months pen will be a .50 cal flip pen that everyone likes, but............you will have the choice of material if you win. You can see the choices in the pic below.
If there is a flaw in one of the pieces when turning it you will have to choose another because you never know what is going to happen until you start turning it.
To whoever wins, I can show you some finished products of the materials below to give you a better idea. Some of them turn out drastically different.

This months theme will be "Summer", show us the best pic of your car that screams summer!
I welcome everyone including vendors to participate, however I will not pick the same winner within a 3 month period.

The contest will close at the end of the 22th (Friday), and at that time the top 5 will be put into a poll and the forum will decide the winner.
ATTENTION: The top 5 will be nominated by the amount of "Likes" they acquire on their pic. So everyone needs to start "liking" things.

Rules for entry are below:

The photo must be attached to a post in this thread
Only one picture will be allowed, so make it your best! (do not submit multiple photos or you will be disqualified)
You must be the owner of the ST. (sorry no RS's anymore)
NO PHOTOSHOP, just to make things fair to everyone who may not have it.

The winner will receive a custom pen made by me.
Looking forward to your entries!

December Winner (2017): @freakin_elrod
January Winner (2018): @BlueHaloGirl
February Winner (2018): @KibaWolf
March Winner (2018): @brian60
April Winner (2018): @Ssquared
May Winner (2018): @theGnarlz

PS: If anyone is willing to donate for the cost of materials please PM me. This contest is being run and funded by me.
Thanks again to @ScottyT for the added prize last month.

Lets keep the comments to a minimum and just keep it for pics.

Sorry everyone, still no ETA on when voting and posting can resume. I have July's pen all ready to go and we can't even finish up June lol. We'll give it another week or so then maybe look into a different solution to get things rolling again.

Latest post in Parts For Sale has photos attached, but a new post in Discussions can't show the attached images
Is there one way of posting photos that works, and another that doesn't? I don't use images that often..

That's the thing...it seems to be totally intermittent... like some will be fine normal upload others via upload, tapatalk upload, or URL linking/embedding will break. It is so weird.

I wish I had an ETA for the fix, but I don't. It's not just this site that's affected (not that makes anyone here feel any better about it, I know). All I can say is that this issue has been the most difficult to track down and fix that I've ever seen in over 10 years around these sites. I do have faith in the Tech team, mainly because I've seen them get tons of other issues related to the migration to the Cloud and adding SSL fixed quickly and effectively. The fact that they haven't been able to fix an issue that's affecting so many sites only tells me how odd and unusual this one is. But I do trust that once they figure out why and how it's happening, they'll get it fixed, and all will be as it was. It's just going to take a little longer than we'd like.

I can only ask that y'all try to understand how challenging this particular issue is; recognize that we (on the forum) don't have the tools or the expertise to track it down; and to please be patient while they do what they do, as quickly as they can.

Thanks, everyone.

I am always very appreciative of your responses and communication, Neil. You keep us filled in to aid in removing speculation from going around.

I do, however, wish that the VB staff were a little more prompt and transparent in their communication at times to us so we aren't pestering you so much and left in the dark! lmao. I feel they only fill us in whenever we poke them first...which causes speculation until they eventually reply to our inquiries amongst the community. As a super mod I try to keep the speculation down, as I tried to do explaining in this thread with @elyk864 a few pages back, but when I have no idea what the latest sitrep is that gets a little tricky  Luckily having technical background and experience specifically with stuff such as SSL and encryption protocols being an information security specialist helps me explain things a little, but you can only do so much with a little feedback from the ones at the source. If that makes sense..

As always, thanks for the insight Neil.

Yeah, I understand that. Honestly, most of what you'll learn from me is from what I've gathered watching my other sites and their issues and resolutions, rather than any 'inside information' I have. I only have a few dozen sites to look after. In the office, they're rotating around on hundreds each! I think a large part of my value--to VS and to the community-- is in having the time to relay what I find out wherever needed. You guys know me, and I'm the same me every time I'm on....I don't use the generic admin account, and that's why. I do have somewhat better access to the team than y'all do, for the really extraordinary circumstance; but I really try not to use it unless absolutely necessary. And knowing that this issue is as widespread as it is, and having seen the hours Tech is putting in trying to sort it out, I know I'm not out of line to tell y'all that this one is just a *****....period. :D I truly don't envy the Tech guys trying to figure this out!

It looks like links to photos hosted on other sites usually work properly but not ones hosted on the forum's site. If I try to go at them by using the attachment symbol on the page listing forum threads I get a "You don't have permission to access /forum/vbseo.php on this server" message when clicking on an individual photo link.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
