So i searched 'splitter rods' and didn't see much on them. But I see them ALL the time. Maybe I didn't search the right term..so if someone has a link to a good thread on them I'm all ears (or eyes? lol).
I've noticed nearly everyone mounts them to plastic...yeah.
So I was curious what set-ups people have used to mount splitter rods properly to brackets or the frame, not the plastic bumper or grill.
its doubtful any of the aftermarket splitters are going to produce enough down force to require chasis mounting supports. Most i would bet are just cosmetic and only need just some light support to be held on properly. I think you just need to take a few measurements and order some universal supports, most look like they are adjustable to fine tune the length.
I'd assume the further your splitter sticks out, the better you want to secure it.
What do yours look like? Im still not sure I want to drill into my RI splitter..but rods done right do give it a nice look without being too 'rice' lol.
That's much like the rods I bought for mine, except I went for more aesthetic tips. The ones that came with the splitter were really quite crude and unappealing.
