FocusSt.org,

We are SO humbled to be a part of this rapidly growing community of enthusiast, who share our passion for all things SPEED.

Speed By Design is automotive performance parts manufacture and distributor based in Oklahoma City. Not only do we have our own brand of performance parts, but we also distribute for several companies around the world.

If you follow the R35 GTR or FT86 (Subaru BRZ, Scion FRS) communities, you are likely familiar with our turbo kits.

We are very proud to announce our latest turbo kit release, and our FIRST release, for the Ford community....our Ultimate Factory Manifold "Blue" 450+ whp Cast Turbo Kit for the 2013+ Focus ST.

Later this fall we will be releasing a Twin-Turbo Kit for the 2015+ 5.0L Mustang, a Single Turbo Kit for the 2015+ 2.3L Ecoboost Mustang, and a Single Turbo Kit for the Focus Fiesta ST.

This turbo upgrade is designed to be an OEM replacement, reusing your factory intercooler piping and downpipe if desired. (Though we STRONGLY recommend upgrading to an aftermarket higher flowing downpipe.)

You will notice we have cast the Turbine Housing to Downpipe Conversion Flange to prevent cracking. As we experienced in the GTR community, heat cycling tends to cause cracking at the welds of the downpipe flanges....so have moved to castings to remedy this issue. This part is not available separately, and will only be sold with our complete kit.

We have also included Heat Sheaths for the water and oil lines to prevent damage to the lines, resulting in potential catastrophic failure to the turbocharger of engine.

As is our tradition, we have our custom CNC Billet Compressor Wheels anodized and laser etched for aesthetics.

The 54mm Inducer Spec (similar in size to the Garrett GTX2971R) Ball-Bearing Turbo Upgrade w/ Hi-Pressure Internal Actuator is $1999.

SCT Users: Torrie @ Unleashed Tuning offers SBD Turbo Kit E-Tunes for $250.

Cobb Users: Tim Bailey @ Cobb Tuning offers SBD Turbo Kit E-tunes for $250.

Rated to 450-475whp with upgraded fuel system, 350-380whp on 91/93 octane. (95/98 RON)

BELOW INFORMATION IS FROM OUR FORMER "Red" Series, which has been discontinued as of 7/1/2016.

Warm 90F today on the dyno, so I'm very pleased at 22 PSI to put down 340whp/319wtq on 93 octane through our Cobb Catted Downpipe!

Up next, we'll be swapping to a Levels Performance FMIC and Catless Downpipe, then repeating the test ;)

STD Correction

SAE Correction

Dyno Run Conditions

Here is the final 91 octane pump gas mapping from Tim Bailey @ Cobb Tuning.

This a 100% Factory Fuel System. Cobb Catted Downpipe.

Wanted to share spool data in 3rd and 4th gear for those that have asked.

3rd Gear making 1 bar of boost (14.5 PSI) at 3130 RPM

We are targeting 22 PSI, and you'll see how the boost controller does a great job of adding/subtracting wastegate duty cycle in real time to maintain our target PSI.

Here is 4th Gear, which I only took to 6000 RPM on the street.

Targeting 22 PSI, the car hits 1 bar of boost (14.5 PSI) at 2975 RPM!

Does she come with the turbo? :in love:

ditto. If you can promise good spool with a full bolt on car I'll be ordering in 2-3 months. I'm looking to scratch 405/410 fwhp with quick spool and cat less DP on 93 pump and all bolt ons.

Tim Bailey @ Cobb was able to figure out the fueling issue on our 2015 Development Car, and all is good ;)

We will be wrapping up the tuning tomorrow, then putting the car on the dyno to gather HP data.

$250 Custom Tunes by Tim should be available this week ;)

At 22 PSI she's spinning the tires and traction is a major issue, so we will be buying stickier tires tomorrow.

I can independently build my own big turbo calibrations using SCT and have for years. That spans 13-14 and will cover MY15 once they give us support. I do a lot of B2B work every single day too.
