Is there any reason deleting the sound symposer as I did two years ago on my focus st could cause problems? My dealer wants to blame my code P2096 on the 2 year old delete. I have heard a thousand reasons for that code but never that one. They did $1800 work on my car and the code came right back so they decided to blame the sound symposer . Post catalyst fuel system to lean is the code reading . Sound symposer has nothing to do with that.

Id say no

Ive actually heard more stories of problems occurring because of the sound symposer..

Sounds like they are just trying to find something to blame for the code

I just deleted mine. There is nothing in the delete that should have effected the car to throw th code. Unless the plug fell off, throwing that code would not be because of the delete, IMO. Hopefully they find out what is wrong.

It's ridiculous that dealers will pull crap like that. One of two things; they're trying to pull something over on you. Or two, they honestly don't know any better and think that's possible. The latter of which makes them complete idiots.
