I'm new to the forum and a new ST owner. I am a mechanic and I understand the correct way to do things. I have access to lathes and a Bridgeport. I can make my own mount. Just wanting to know opinions about making a solid mount. It seems like one of the first upgrades people do. I can see why as when I shift hard I can feel engine movement. Should I venture into making it solid? Yes or No? Why? Thanks

A solid RMM would shake the heck out the this car. Unless you are gutting it, supping it up and adding a roll cage because racecar...

Solid bushings are good for the Shift lever base(4pc) and on the (trans) Shift-cable bracket(3pc). can be bought for around $30 +/- each set.
That will be one of the best/cheap/easy upgrades to do. ALUMINUM SHIFTER BUSHINGS

If I remember correctly there is a solid mount out there.
There is at least one. James Barone Racing makes it and they advertise it as a drag racing mount (meaning even their marketing recognizes that this is a terrible idea for anything other than a dedicated track car).
