We have 5 kits were purchased from Todd, four of them needed zero brake grease. Lucky me, I got the ones that developed the squeal from hell. The winning formula for me was to remove the rattle clips and lube the edges of the pad back plate that contacts the caliper, but not where the Pistons touch the back plate.
PS the process of eliminating the squeal was my hidden motivation that lead to the S-80 rotor
I prefer to file the ends of the pads a bit and make them a loser fit to the tension clips than they come. For race use I remove the clips usually so the pad is as lose in the caliper body as it can be.
