Simple (stupid) question for anyone who can answer... Should there be a bolt in that there shiny hole thingy. It is on the right side of the engine bay if that helps give a visual idea

It looks like there's never been a bolt there. You should see circular marks where the bolt/washer were tightened.

Maybe it's for another application. The 2.0L Ecoboost does go in other vehicles.

Yeah I was going to say that the 2.0L is used in the Fusion and the Escape. But be for mounting an automatic transmission. I am having a hard time pin pointing where this is on the car though.

that looks to be by the air box and the black corrugated plastic is the sound symposer tube

Replaced the bushings on my transmission bracket and there are (if I remember correctly) 3 different bolt holes in that area that are empty. This looks like one of them. I am 99% sure it is supposed to be empty.

It doesn't look like there's anywhere for that to bolt to, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
