Hey guys I'm stumped. I have a check engine light saying lean.. generic code. It almost stalls at idle if I simply let it idle or rev it to 2000. Also since the lean code getting more gas in my oil.

Found this on the net. Take it to the dealer might have a major problem

If a large amount of gasoline does get into the engine oil, change the oil immediately upon fixing the problem that has allowed this to happen.

Excessive Fuel
When a fuel injector is stuck open, the fuel will flood out. Gasoline will definitely get into the oil when this is the case.

If the fuel pressure in your car is too high that may cause gasoline to get into the engine oil

An inoperative injector system can also cause this problem, because if the engine is not firing appropriately, the gasoline will end up running down the walls of the cylinders.

Check to see if the float in the gas tank is rising the way it should be rising or if it needs an adjustment. You will not be able to look at your gas gauge and get an accurate reading If the float is not functioning properly.

Your engine may be running rich, with too much gas going into the engine and too little air.

Check to see if the oil level might be really high. This can also cause trouble.

Check Piston Rings First
Any time you realize that too much gas is getting into your engine oil, you should replace the piston rings and then replace the oil. See if this helps the problem, and if it does not, then investigate the many other possibilities as to why the fuel is leaking into the oil.

Perhaps at this point do a compression test. Otherwise you can try getting your fuel injectors tested. Also check your spark plugs to see if they are good or if they might be misfiring.

Well oil will smell like gas naturally. I'd say find what's causing the lean condition first then go from there

It's turbo charged and also there is natural blowby occurring at all times. Go smell your oil real quick

moot point my car has very low miles, he said it was "thin" and smelled like straight gas after one day, I still maintain a compression test is in order, I've been wrong before but its easy to compression test
EDIT: you do have a valid point though; if his O2 is bad and his ECU is dumping fuel you could be right

Just saying that to assume piston rings immediately is absurd especially with a lean code. It may be adding fuel to compensate for the lean condition. Is it multiplicative? When is the condition being recognized as lean? Lots of variables

If it's a leak on the pressure side causing lean condition you might see less boost or hear an audible leak but it will probably just keep te gate actuated to spool more to meet requested boost values. Vaccum is not on the boost side as it's called vacuum . It could be a hose anywhere on the engine which an engine is a vaccum pump and our car probably has a cam driven vacuum pump. Not familiar enough to be for sure but I bet it does.
