I am having a really hard time getting the low beam bulb out of the housing. I disconnected the headlight but cannot get it out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean you disconnected "it"? The harness from the entire assembly or just the plug to the HID bulb? I just swapped out my bulbs yesterday for some 8000Ks after swapping them for some 7000ks last week so I'm getting pretty good at it
If you are having issues, just remove the entire headlight. There are only two bolts attaching it to the car and both are easy to access.
When you say low beam, i am assuming you are meaning the d3s/d8s bi-xenon HID bulb. Those are attached with this style C clip that is a pain to reach, see here for what i am referencing:

You need to turn those like a quarter turn iirc then bulb should come out
