I am interested in removing the glossy black plastic on my door pillars by the windows so I can wrap them with something that won't scratch. Anyone tried this or know how to get them off? My car is the 2015 ST3 with the keypad

I'm not 100% sure but I believe they're held on with clips & 3m double side tape. I've removed them from a couple other vehicles to replace scratched up/faded ones & no matter what I've done they ended up broken. Granted I didn't take ultimate care in trying to get them off.

Of the other ones I did they slid up and then out. But with the tape holding them it's not easy...

It would probably just be easier to just wrap them while they are on the car and if you are using a good product it should not peel.

I didn't remove the panels, well I tried to but it requires more steps than mentioned in the picture above. More so I would have broken a few tabs if I had tried to remove it. I just cut the vinyl to size and applied using a hair dryer.

You can polish the plastic to remove the scratches, a guy on the forum did it and they came out looking brand new

ST3 has door unlock touchpanel on those pillars - could always do a flat clear wrap over the pillars to remove the glossy look
