Under the rearview mirror. It needs to be high enough to have a clear shot out the back window.

That carbon fiber trim looks magical

Thanks. It's just vinyl wrap but I'm happy with it.

That might be a weekend project soon but I suck at using scissors lol. When your a lefty right handed scissors don't work that well

Yeah like @Bryman13 said below the mirror looks nice, and there's also the option of doing higher and to the right of the mirror or something. Just don't be a noob and mount it low..we'll judge you. ;)

Is that on the windshield or a mount on the mirror?

The only annoying thing with putting it up there would be the power cable hanging down

Suctioned to the windshield. Having it hard wired minimizes the amount of wire that you can see. I played around with placement a little bit and that was the best for visibility and showing the least amount of wire.

I would hard wire it, but there are a lot of times I like turning it off, and correct me if I'm wrong but I wouldn't be able to do that if it's hard wired

Not true. It will have an on/off switch (volume dial on most) and you can still unplug it and remove it just as easy as you could with the normal plug.

Good point, forgot about the volume switch I've just always got it on full volume. Was that thread posted at the top the best write-up for hard wiring?

Seems pretty on point to me.

Get a blend mount and a direct wire kit. And while you're at it, get an autodimming rear view mirror with Homelink. That was my third mod on my 2016 ST2. Doing them at the same time cuts down on the amount of duplicated work.

Same as others have said - under the rear view mirror. I don't have pictures but I hard wired an Escort 9500ix and wired it with a fuse tap to turn on/off with the vehicle. Plus Escort has an excellent suction cup mount.

Would a mirror mount work with my mirror even though it has the dimming toggle thing under it? (brain fart, can't remember what it's actually called)

I think fuse 78 is a 5 minute delay after power is off. Double check, but you should be able to tap into that.

Spend the money and get a Blendmount (if it's available for your radar detector). I have one in my ST and one in the GF's SE; they are pricey, but well worth it.
