No plans of going big turbo anytime soon but about to order a cp-e core.

Should I go with the 3.5 or the 5.5? Summers do get pretty hot around here so I'm kinda leaning towards the 5.5.

I guess I'm mostly looking for the approximate pressure drop between the 2.

5.5 is perfect if you're going BT. 3.5 is adequate. However if you live where it gets REALLY HOT then just get the 5.5.

Are you set on CP-E or would you consider getting the Depo and saving a ton of money for basically the same exact thing?

I've consider depo just not down with the waiting game of actually getting one from his next incoming batch.

I didn't realize he sold all of his 5.5s also. In that case that's up to you. If you don't plan on going big turbo immediately I'd wait but that's just me. I compromised and got a used CP-E for 380 because it was the same as the 3.5" depo and only an extra 30 bucks to have it NOW.

Yeah only thing that sucks is even at stage 1 I'm hitting close to 40over ambient and track opens next week lol. Heat soak central.

Yeah I wouldn't even track mine without the upgraded IC...I'd be searching hard for a used if you can't do the 4 week wait

I think I may have bought the last 5.5" :big smile: It is amazing, my charge air temps are less than ambient (going by the in dash thermometer).

Yeah I'm getting my readings via accessport. Did a quick pull last night with outside temp being around 47* not even full boost I was at like 87* CAT lmao.

I was gonna say, he had 5.5" in stock just recently so it had to have JUST sold out. Good thing you didn't hesitate! Depending on the temperature I've seen mine a degree or two below ambient but it is usually right at ambient and during a hard 4th gear pull to almost redline it spikes right at the end 6 or so degrees. WAYYYYYY better than stock and that's just a 3.5"

I didn't monitor mine when I was on the stock IC because I know it was absolutely HORRIBLE haha crazy they even put an intercooler this small on it, AND to think they continue building them each year without bumping up the size at least a little.

To be honest even under full pulls through multiple gears, i havent seen anything above ambient yet. But it hasnt been any more than mid 30s here in pittsburgh.

I wish I didn't lol, you'd think they would have ran something bigger for the kind of pressure this things boost stock.

Exactly lol, but I'm 30' above sea level and summer sees around 100*+ so I'm kinda looking down the line and such.

You'll be glad you did! I put the depo 5.5 on my 16 with a green filter and rs airbox being the only mods. Feels like a different car, even on the stock tune. I haven't noticed any loss in boost response or any negative side effects whatsoever.

Not buying for awhile but do you guys know if the Depo 5.5 has the same end tank design (internal fins) as the CP-e? And any issues mounting the larger/heavier depo/CP-e on stock (plastic?) radiator tabs? I saw some concerns going thru the FMIC thread, although from a long while back and haven't seen any reported problems since. SThanks!

Just to put my two dollhairs in, I have the COBB FMIC, I live in AZ where the temsps reach over 115 and my core tems have always been fantastic. Are you planning on a slightly bigger turbo? If not then you're stock turbo will be golden. Hope you track the car at least once.

Also I recommend Waterwetter for an additive, Most of the guys here in AZ are using it was Great results! https://zcardepot.com/engine/coolin...ve-12oz.html?gclid=CPfIwPLQ8NECFRC1wAodurEF8Q

At some point I'll probably go with a bigger turbo, track days will definitely come since I've got a few tracks around. Always been curious about waterwetter lol.
