New to the Ford Focus scene and was thinking about lowering the car, not too much, using springs only. Since the car has Mc Pherson struts up front, I assume that lowering will decrease my front camber (less negative) due to the lowering, correct? I also the rear will gain more negative camber due to the double wishbone setup. If you drop the car on H&R springs can anyone advise what the drop might be and the result camber?

Is there anyway to adjust in more negative front camber, should i need it?

You will increase camber, as well as toe-in when lowering. Camber is not adjustable on these cars without extra parts. So just get your toe fixed and drive.

That said, after lowering, the camber seems perfect on many of the popular lowering springs. Let's face it, it needs more negative camber to begin with!

You can correct the rear camber easily with a number of different camber arms available. The fronts, not so much unless you go to full coilovers and get a camber adjustable tophat. No one makes a front camber kit on the stock strut/spring combo. My guess is that it's like the RS, where there isnt' any room for camber adjustment within the wheel well where the spring sits. Like I said though, the camber actually gets better after lowering.

I looked into H&R springs as well as they quoted 1.4 drop front and 1.3 drop rear (I might have that backwards, but you get the point). Based on what everyone has said, the drop is actually closer to 0.5in drop or MAYBE 1.0 drop... definitely not what they quote it to be. I was set to purchase these and now I'm back at the drawing board.

Also I'm looking to Tein sport springs, but can't find many testimonials on them. I'd really want a good 1 1/2 in drop.

Not only is that a lot, and you'll be scraping/rubbing everywhere. But you'll need to replace your struts if you go that low, or blow your stock ones in a matter of months. If you want that kind of lows... Go with a coilover setup. Since you want to be that low, you don't even need to get a good one, since ride quality was already dismissed by going so low. :p

I don't anticipate actually going that low. It's been my experience that when manufacturers say their springs will lower your car 1.5 inches, you actually get 1 inch. I think 1 inch is PERFECT! Looks great without slamming it and having the issues that come with that.
