Good to see a section for other projects when you don't own an ST. 馃檹馃徑馃憤

Since I've already begun this project 18 months ago I'll just continue with where I am today and since I drive a truck all over the country updates like my progress will be slow but monthly. 5 days off a month your time is limited for your build.

I guess I'll start with the Showcase here on the forums here so you can see where I am and some background.

My latest steps have been a great find on a transmission from a 2014 Veloster Turbo R-Spec for my swap and has only 24k miles on it.
That's less miles than my Hyundai with 32k.
Since I'll be tracking this car I just purchased Quaife lsd which has been modified by Bisimoto Engineering to fit the turbo transmission of the Velosters.
Ive already got all the seals and bearings to drop in the lsd and have it ready once I source the turbo motor.

I also came across an ECU for the swap that is a plug and play with the Accent although I'll have to have some additional wires added for the swap which won't be an issue as I'm also an electronic tech in my previous life before trucking.

I needed a battery kill switch for the safety crews at the track for that just in case and it also adds a bit of theft protection too. Since I'm on the road for a month or more the switch is perfect for battery disconnect without having to constantly pulling battery cables. 馃槀馃憤

I'll throw in a few picks to start this thread as the build continues.

Thanks for looking and more to come in this long term project build. 馃憤

I always wondered why hyundai didn't release a model with the veloster turbo/elantra sport engine. I mean, it already has the Gamma engine, wouldn't have required much on Hyundai's part to throw the turbo Gamma in there. Car would have been a riot even from the factory.

Nice progress on the build so far!

Thanks all for the kind words. 馃檹馃徑馃憤
I agree about why they didn't have a sport model in the lineup but it's marketed as an economy car for college kids wanting a decent ride with good gas mileage.

I'll be headed home in 5 days to continue progress on the electrical side of things.
Seems the electrical work is always the hardest to do and takes the longest to complete.
I still need to finish my spare rear axle beam so I can swap beam axles and have discs for the rear. Drum brakes just don't work for the looks department or performance. 馃槀馃槈
Then I can finally install my DGR coilovers and get it all setup like I want.
More to come so stay tuned. 馃

Well it's not a car or an ST but it's my second ride and steed so I can get around while the car is under the knife. 馃槀馃槏

I had seriously been looking at an ST for sale but really didn't have a place to put a second car while I was driving the truck each month.
I did need a second source of transportation and a bicycle wasn't an option.

So a motorcycle could fit in with the car in storage when I'm out on the road and now a proud owner of another Honda. 馃槀馃え馃馃馃し馃徏鈥嶁檪锔

Home in 4 days and can't wait.
