My positive lead has pretty bad corrosion. I want to replace the positive lead and battery too.

The problem is the positive lead has a white wire crimped onto it. I assume it's a starter or alternator wire or something

I can't seem to easily trace it back to where it goes? How would you replace the positive lead with this white wire crimped onto it?

I was considering ordering new OEM pos. cable and splicing the new lead's white wire into the existing wiring.

Thoughts?

You can open the terminal up with a knife and go to the parts store, get some 5$ battery terminals not the painted ones, and get some terminal protector paint and spray it on there and be done. No need to order terminals and go through the headace of splicing and waiting on them
